Sign Languages eLearning Program kicks off MGTO joins industry partner and community organizations to promote accessible tourism
The “Power in Our Hands – The Greater Bay Area Sign Language Community Outreach eLearning Program” was launched today (29 November). Members of the travel trade can start learning online through the link at Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO)’s Macao Tourism Industry Net, leveraging the convenient e-platform to enhance their basic knowledge of sign language for daily conversations, and learn more about cultural tourism of Macao and the Greater Bay Area. Learners can become better equipped for efficient communication with hearing-impaired individuals, in turn contributing to the betterment of Macao as an accessible tourism destination.

Cultural Affairs Bureau launches pilot version of the Filming Permit Application Platform to facilitate film and television productions in Macao
The Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym) has launched a pilot version of the Filming Permit Application Platform to facilitate filming units to apply for filming permits through the online platform, and also to allow to check the progress of the applications. The platform will provide a more efficient, user-friendly and business-friendly electronic channel for the film and television industry to handle enquiries and applications of filming permits, helping to promote the development of Macao’s film and television production industry.

Cultural Affairs Bureau launches online virtual exhibitions to promote digitalisation of museum resources and enrich cultural experiences
The Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym) continues to promote the use of digital museum resources. Following the provision of virtual tours of the Macao Museum and the Macao Museum of Art, four museums under the auspices of the IC, including the Macanese Living Museum of Taipa Houses, the Museum of Taipa and Coloane History, the Xian Xinghai Memorial Museum and the Heritage Exhibition of a Traditional Pawnshop Business, offer online virtual exhibitions, allowing the public to enjoy a 360-degree “cloud tour”.

External merchandise trade statistics for October 2021
Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that total merchandise export amounted to MOP906 million in October 2021, up by 14.5% year-on-year. Value of re-exports (MOP741 million) grew by 8.6%, with that of Perfumes and Beauty, cosmetic & skincare products jumping by 645.2% and 218.8% respectively. Value of domestic exports (MOP166 million) increased by 51.3%, with that of Garments and Copper & articles thereof rising by 56.3% and 42.3% respectively. Meanwhile, total merchandise import went down by 7.8% year-on-year to MOP10.63 billion; imports of Beauty, cosmetic & skincare products, Construction materials and Perfumes declined by 37.3%, 24.7% and 20.5% respectively, whereas imports of Mobile phones and Articles for casino leapt by 163.4% and 99.6% respectively. Merchandise trade deficit in October 2021 totalled MOP9.73 billion.

Results of survey on manpower needs and wages for the 3rd quarter 2021
The Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) released results of the Survey on Manpower Needs and Wages for the third quarter of 2021. Survey coverage for this quarter comprises Manufacturing; Electricity, Gas & Water Supply; Hotels; Restaurants; Child-care and Elderly Care. As affected by the pandemic of novel coronavirus pneumonia, the average earnings of full-time employees in September last year were notably dragged down as a number of employees in some industries were placed on unpaid leave. Due to the low base of comparison, the average earnings in September this year generally increased.

The 2021 Guangdong & Macao Branded Products Fair Concludes Successfully
The 2021 Guangdong & Macao Branded Products Fair (2021GMBPF), jointly organised by the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) and the Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province, concluded successfully on Sunday (28 November). This year’s GMBPF was rich in content and bustling with excitement, attracting nearly 400 enterprises. More than 90 online and offline business meetings were arranged, with 21 projects signed. There were more than one million live views and replay views in the three days.
