Monetary and financial statistics – April 2021

According to statistics released today by the Monetary Authority of Macao, broad money supply retreated in April with a stable share of patacas. Meanwhile, resident deposits decreased from a month ago whereas loans to residents posted an increase.

The “Macao Week in Shanghai” was grandly unveiled today (3 June). Chief Executive of the Macao Special Administrative Region, Ho Iat Seng, officiated the opening ceremony. The Macao Week in Shanghai presents a mega roadshow along Yuanmingyuan Road Pedestrian Street at Waitanyuan, Huangpu District in Shanghai from 3 – 7 June, to promote Macao as a healthy, safe and quality destination radiant with diverse dimensions of “tourism +” including trade and commerce as well as other elements, towards the aim to encourage Mainland residents to travel to Macao.


Macao, Shanghai strengthening ties and practical cooperation

The Chief Executive, Mr Ho Iat Seng, met on Thursday (3 June) in Shanghai with the Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Shanghai Municipal Committee, Mr Li Qiang, to exchange views on how to boost cooperation in economic and trade matters, and in the tourism sector.
