Singing Club Recruitment CCM Open to New Voices

The Macao Cultural Centre, under the auspices of the Cultural Affairs Bureau, is recruiting a new wave of choristers to join its Singing Club. Applications are now open to children and youth aged 8 to 16, wishing to explore the delights of vocal performance and to enhance their artistic insights.


MICE statistics for the 3rd quarter of 2021

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that, as several events that had been scheduled for the third quarter of 2021 were postponed or cancelled amid the pandemic, number of MICE events in the quarter decreased by 76 quarter-to-quarter to 71; number of participants & attendees fell by 28.9% to 226,000. In comparison with the same quarter last year, MICE events increased by 3 while the number of participants & attendees dropped by 23.9%.


2021GMBPF Attracts Visitors with Rich Elements

The “2021 Guangdong & Macao Branded Products Fair” (2021GMBPF) will be held at Hall D of The Venetian Macao for three consecutive days starting today (26 November), and is open to the public for free. This year, the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) and the Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province have further integrated the online and offline activities of the 2021GMBPF that continue to feature shopping, leisure and entertainment, offering a wide range of products, providing local residents and tourists with a good place to relax.


Arrangements for new-born babies and first-time applicants for Macao SAR Resident Identity Card to register for Electronic Consumption Benefit Scheme

The Electronic Consumption Benefit Scheme was launched in May 2021. The last registration day is on 10th December 2021 and the last collection date of “consumption card” is on 13th December 2021. In order to ensure the issuance of resident identity card to new-born babies and other first-time applicants for the Macao SAR Resident Identity Card for them to collect the “consumption card” on or before 13th December 2021, citizens have to complete the formalities and submitted all required documents before 7th December 2021, and pay the extra fees for expediting the formalities that may be incurred.


Online registration for the exchange of the XXIV Olympic Winter Games banknotes commencing next Wednesday

To celebrate the XXIV Olympic Winter Games which will be held in Beijing in 2022, Bank of China (BOC) has been authorized to issue the XXIV Olympic Winter Games banknotes, which will be available for registration and exchange by Macao residents commencing from December 1 (Next Wednesday).

UM students win awards in iGEM Competition for three consecutive years

An interdisciplinary team formed by 23 undergraduate students in the University of Macau (UM) Faculty of Health Sciences (FHS), Faculty of Business Administration (FBA), and Faculty of Arts and Humanities (FAH), recently won a silver medal in the International Genetic Engineered Machine (iGEM) Competition. This year’s event attracted 343 teams from 47 countries and regions. This is the third consecutive year that UM has won an award in this international competition.
