Eligibility criteria for the third dose of COVID-19 vaccine to be further relaxed from today
The Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre (hereinafter referred to as “the Centre”) announces further relaxation of the eligibility criteria to book for the third dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. Starting from today, all individuals aged 18 years or above who have completed two doses of inactivated COVID-19 vaccine at least 6 months ago and without contraindications are now eligible to book an appointment for receiving the third dose of COVID-19 vaccine. Those who have received two doses of mRNA COVID-19 vaccine at least 6 months ago may also book for the third dose if they meet the following conditions: 1) Aged 60 years or above; 2) Aged 18-59 years with a weaker immune system, or 3) Aged 18-59 years susceptible to greater exposure risk or greater health consequences if infected.

Foreign exchange reserves and nominal effective exchange rate index for the pataca – October 2021
The Monetary Authority of Macao announced today that the preliminary estimate of Macao SAR’s foreign exchange reserves amounted to MOP213.2 billion (USD26.61 billion) at the end of October 2021. The reserves increased by 1.0% from the revised value of MOP211.0 billion (USD26.31 billion) for the previous month. Macao SAR’s foreign exchange reserves at end-October 2021 represented 11 times the currency in circulation or 88.4% of pataca M2 at end-September 2021.

The Tourism Development Committee (CDT, on its Portuguese acronym) convened the second Plenary Meeting of 2021 at Macao Science Center today (12 November), presided over by Secretary for Economy and Finance of the Macao Special Administrative Region Government and Committee Chairperson, Lei Wai Nong. Different CDT members actively raised suggestions on Macao’s latest tourism situation. Next year, Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) will strive to push forward tourism recovery and development by working on four major areas as follows: expand the spectrum of visitor source, foster community tourism and economy, deepen “tourism +” integration and regional cooperation.

IPIM Facilitates Over 1,000 Business Matching Sessions in CIIE to Help Macao Enterprises Expand their Market
The 4th China International Import Expo (CIIE) was successfully concluded on 10 November after running for six consecutive days. Fruitful results were achieved during the event by the 46 Macao exhibitors organised by the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM). In the two pavilions set up by IPIM, over 1,000 business matching sessions were conducted, covering many industries such as food trade, hotel, catering and e-commerce, and throughout the event 12 preliminary memoranda of co-operation were signed.
