The online subscription period for the 2022 Year of the Tiger commemorative coins will end on 30 July 2021 (Friday) at 6:00pm. AMCM would like to remind Macao residents who are interested in subscribing for the said coins to complete the online subscription process before the mentioned deadline.


Macao Public Library under the Cultural Affairs Bureau launches 27th issue of Books and the City

The 27th issue of Books and the City, published by the Macao Public Library under the Cultural Affairs Bureau, is now available to the public. Themed “Entrepreneurial Wealth”, this issue of Books and the City shares suggestions and tips based on the experiences of renowned writer in the respective area and a local pioneering entrepreneurial team, as well as examples of success in the transformation of old stores. In addition, it introduces several practical books from the collections of the Macao Public Library of the Cultural Affairs Bureau, allowing the public to gain knowledge on wealth creation from multiple perspectives.

Macao Orchestra launches 2021-22 Concert Season Tickets on sale from 31 July

The Macao Orchestra (OM, from the Portuguese acronym), under the auspices of the Cultural Affairs Bureau, inaugurates its 2021-22 Concert Season in September, themed “Inheritance of German and Austrian Classics”, inviting numerous internationally acclaimed musicians and art groups to present masterpieces of classical music, allowing audiences to appreciate the wisdom of the great masters and to pass on the beauty of music through a vast array of exciting works. Tickets for the new Concert Season will be on sale from 10am on 31 July at the Macau Ticketing Network, and an early bird 40% discount will be available on the first 10 days of ticket sale.


Assistant Minister of Commerce of the PRC Ren Hongbin Heads a Delegation to Macao to Attend the 12th IIICF

A delegation led by Assistant Minister of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China Ren Hongbin visited Macao from 21 to 24 July to attend the 12th International Infrastructure Investment and Construction Forum (12th IIICF) and gave suggestions regarding enhancing international infrastructure co-operation and building consensus among all parties, as well as inspirational advices for the development orientation of future editions of the IIICF.

The 12th International Infrastructure Investment and Construction Forum (12th IIICF), collaboratively organised by the China International Contractors Association and the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM), concluded today (23 July). In the protocol signing ceremony held on the same day, 11 collaboration agreements were signed, covering hydropower, wind power, petrochemistry and municipal engineering in Africa, Latin America, the South Pacific and Europe (Germany and Bosnia and Herzegovina).

The IIICF Steering Committee convened its third working meeting in Macao today (21 July). The meeting was co-chaired by Assistant Minister of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China Ren Hongbin and Secretary for Economy and Finance of the Government of the Macao Special Administrative Region Lei Wai Nong.

The five parallel forums held during the 12th International Infrastructure Investment and Construction Forum (12th IIICF), including “Giving Full Play to Macao’s Role as Platform, Promoting China and Portuguese-speaking Countries to Jointly Advance the Belt and Road Co-operation” and “Carbon Neutrality and International Power Energy Co-operation”, came to an end. The parallel forums covered a wide variety of topics, such as the trends of international infrastructure in carbon neutrality, energy conservation and emissions reduction, financial innovation, green infrastructure development, zero-coupon bonds, and infrastructure financing. Meanwhile, issues relating to how to promote the collaborative innovation and development of overseas consulting services and contracted projects, as well as the development of Macao as a co-operation platform between China and Portuguese-speaking countries to assist Mainland and Macao companies in their joint exploration of the markets in Portuguese-speaking countries, were discussed.

The grace period for the Rat and Ox Zodiac banknotes and the previously issued 20th Anniversary of the Return to the Motherland of Macao banknotes will end on 30 July 2021 (Friday). The Monetary Authority of Macao would like to remind those registrants who have not yet conducted the note exchange to exchange for their subscribed notes at their previously selected bank on or before this Friday.
