MPI Holds Seminar on Innovative Thinking in Gaming and Tourism

The Centre for Gaming and Tourism Studies (CJT) of Macao Polytechnic Institute (MPI) held a seminar “Innovative Thinking on the Development of Gaming and Tourism” on March 10, 2021. The seminar featured presentations by distinguished speakers, including Mr. Jay Chun, Chairman of Paradise Entertainment Ltd., Mr. Tian Han, SVP of Gaming Operations & Strategic Marketing at MGM, as well as Prof. Zeng Zhonglu and his associates of MPI. The innovation issues in gaming technology were discussed in the seminar, alongside the new theoretical paradigms in gaming and tourism research.


The “One Country, Two Systems” Research Centre of the Macao Polytechnic Institute held lectures at Escola Estrela do Mar and Xin Hua Evening Secondary School to promote the Constitution and the Basic Law

The “One Country, Two Systems” Research Centre of the Macao Polytechnic Institute (MPI) held lectures named “Constitution and Basic Law on Campus” at Escola Estrela do Mar and Xin Hua Evening Secondary School on 1 and 2 March 2021 respectively. The aim of the lectures is to promote the rule of law and law-abiding awareness among young students through various levels of publicity and promotion, to foster young people's recognition of and respect for the Constitution and the Basic Law, and to enhance the overall legal literacy of the community. The two sessions also received recognition of great importance from the above-mentioned schools.

The “Keep your receipts 2021” activity organized by the Consumer Council has started and the registration period ends on 14 May. A total of 85 prizes are available and consumers are welcome to participate.


Foreign exchange reserves and nominal effective exchange rate index for the pataca – February 2021

The Monetary Authority of Macao announced today that the preliminary estimate of Macao SAR’s foreign exchange reserves amounted to MOP198.5 billion (USD24.85 billion) at the end of February 2021. The reserves increased by 1.6% from the revised value of MOP195.4 billion (USD24.47 billion) for the previous month. Macao SAR’s foreign exchange reserves at end-February 2021 represented 10 times the currency in circulation or 82.5% of pataca M2 at end-January 2021.


About 3,000 People have not yet Provided the Proof of Life, the Related Benefit Payment to be Suspended from April

According to the Social Security Fund (abbreviated to FSS in Macao), there are about 132,000 beneficiaries receiving old-age and disability pension this year, and about 3,000 of them have yet to provide the proof of life. The FSS reminds that beneficiaires who have not provided the proof of life must complete the formalities before the end of March, otherwise the related payment will be suspended from April.


Commemorative postmark cancellation service of “90th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Colégio Diocesano de São José 1-6”

To celebrate the 90th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Colégio Diocesano de São José 1-6, Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau announces that a Temporary Post Counter will be set up at Estrada Marginal da Ilha Verde, n.º 14-17, Colégio Diocesano de São José 6, from 11:30 to 16:30 on 19th March 2021, to provide the commemorative postmark cancellation service for the “90th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Colégio Diocesano de São José 1-6”.

Pump track added to children’s cycling field in Flora Park open for trial run

The Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) continues to optimise the facilities in various parks and gardens. Following the earlier reopening of the children’s cycling/scooter field and the plant maze area of the Flora Park after revamping and optimisation, the pump track (cycling track) introduced for the first time in the park to provide the public with more diversified venues will be open on March 16 (Tuesday) for trial run.
