The mega cultural and artistic event “Art Macao” will be held from June to October this year. Organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) and various entities, it will continue to present the world with a new brand of Macao’s cultural tourism through the joint participation of the Government, enterprises, artists and the public in the cultural and tourism undertakings. This edition of the “Art Macao” will highlight various aspects and levels of contemporary visual arts. Through the organization of “Art Macao: Macao International Art Biennale 2021” and a programme of local exhibitions, it provides an international exchange platform for Macao artists. Local artists are welcome to participate and submit their visual artworks.

The event “2021 hush! Summer Concerts”, organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from its Portuguese acronym), will be held from 26 June to 11 July at coastal performance sites, including the Macao Science Centre Square, the Navy Yard No. 2, and the Ponte 9 Rooftop. This year, the event will feature a “hush! Kids” stage for the first time, in addition to a number of concerts, thematic performances, booths hosted by local practitioners, the art of installation and online music competitions. IC is now calling for the participation of local bands and musicians in the “2021 hush! Summer Concerts” and is recruiting cultural creative companies or individuals to jointly develop “hush” branded products. All local bands, musicians and related entities are welcome to participate in the event to promote Macao’s pop music culture.

An exhibition of the University of Macau’s (UM) achievements in volunteer teaching in Congjiang, Guizhou province, will be held from 16 March to 28 March, in the Centre for Exhibitions and Artistic Shows for Young People (O Pavilhão de Exposições e Espectáculos Artísticos para Jovens). The event is organised by Chao Kuang Piu College (CKPC) at UM and sponsored by the Education and Youth Development Bureau. It will be open to the public. All are welcome.

In order to strengthen institute-enterprise cooperation, and provide enterprises and students with a career matching platform in Macao and the Greater Bay Area, Macao Polytechnic Institute is organizing series of activities for “MPI Careers Day 2021”. Activities include online and offline career exhibitions by more than 70 enterprises, the provision of more than 2,000 employment and internship opportunities and more than a dozen employment talks. The talks cover topics of job interview strategies, youth entrepreneurship and innovation, emerging in the world’s majors, youth Bay Area development and other issues, so as to assist students in their career development planning. Many prospective graduates and students were attracted to the on-site registration and matching.

The Consumer Council collected price information of 20 disinfection products and 15 personal care products on 9 March from 25 drugstores and supermarkets. The price data of the said products are now available on the Council’s “Macao Price Information Platform” app. Survey result reviews price differences in various retail locations, consumers are suggested to use different functions on the platform to make better consumption choice.

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that the overall residential property price index for November 2020 - January 2021 decreased by 0.4% over the previous period (October - December 2020) to 267.7. The index for the Macao Peninsula (267.4) fell by 0.5%, while that for Taipa & Coloane (268.6) held steady from the previous period.

The IFTM Wine Appreciation Club, an affiliate of the IFTM Student Union has successfully concluded its Portuguese wine tasting event on 5 March. The event provided an opportunity for students to enhance their knowledge in Portuguese wines and to learn from the wine trade professionals on Macao’s role as a Sino-Portuguese trading platform.
