CE: Boosting economy amid COVID-19 alert a key task for Macao

The Chief Executive, Mr Ho Iat Seng, today said boosting Macao’s economy was a key task for the Government, at a time when COVID-19 had been controlled locally.



IFTM students supporting green business

The Macao Institute for Tourism Studies (IFTM) continues its effort to support local small business during the Covid-19 pandemic via student projects. One of these projects began in January and proceeded via using virtual approaches to guide and lead students towards their learning. This student project helped a new startup called LESS IS MORE that offers environmental-friendly products to stimulate lifestyle change and healthier living in the city. The student project was part of the entrepreneurship course led by Dr Fernando Lourenço of IFTM to help LESS IS MORE to research and develop their strategic vision for the coming five years. Towards the end, full business plans were developed and a wide range of strategies and ideas offered by the students who participated in this project.




UM achieves breakthroughs in autonomous driving research

The University of Macau (UM) has achieved two major breakthroughs in autonomous driving research. A study at the university has provided new insights on autonomous driving under bad weather and complex road conditions while another study has developed new learning models that will be specifically applied to autonomous driving in Macao. The research results will be presented at two top annual conferences of artificial intelligence.


Macao Orchestra will resume its performances from July onwards presenting the “Summer Episodes” concert series

The Macao Orchestra, under the auspices of the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym), will resume its performances from July onwards, presenting four concerts including classical symphonies, chamber music and youth concerts for classical music aficionados, welcoming the summer with wonderful melodies. Admission to the concerts is free. Registration will be available from 10 July.
