UM hosts interdisciplinary lectures to promote Luso-Afro-Asian dialogues

The Research Centre for Luso-Asian Studies, under the Department of Portuguese, Faculty of Arts and Humanities (FAH), University of Macau (UM), recently organised three guest lectures and a public seminar under the title ‘Luso-Afro-Asian Dialogues’.

Mortgage loans statistics – October 2019

According to statistics released today by the Monetary Authority of Macao, new approvals of residential mortgage loans (RMLs) decreased while those of commercial real estate loans (CRELs) increased in October 2019. With regard to the outstanding balances, RMLs increased whereas CRELs witnessed a decline.


19th Macao City Fringe Festival outreach activities offer diverse artistic experiences

The 19th Macao City Fringe Festival, organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau, (IC, from the Portuguese acronym), features a series of outreach activities, including workshops, talks, exhibitions, sharing sessions, and the backstage volunteer campaign entitled “Slashie”, offering rich and diverse artistic experiences to the public.


19th Macao City Fringe Festival themed “Boundless creation will show you around!” guides the audience through a journey full of fantasy

Organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau, the 19th Macao City Fringe Festival, themed “Boundless creation will show you around!”, will be held from 10 to 19 January 2020, featuring a total of 17 extraordinary programmes and 13 outreach activities, guiding the audience on a journey full of fantasy in the streets and alleys of Macao.


DSI launches instant service for updating marital status on resident ID cards

To provide more convenience for Macao residents to update their marital status stored in ID card chips, in wake of its cooperation with the Legal Affairs Bureau (DSAJ) to launch the relevant self-service, the Identification Services Bureau (DSI) also introduced simplified measures from 11 December 2019 to expedite relevant procedures and help residents efficiently update ID cards in accordance with the law when there are changes in marital status.


Consumer Council released 3rd supermarket price survey report of the current month

The Consumer Council conducted its ‘Supermarket price survey’ of the first-half of December on 11 December for the implementation of Section 2b), Article 10, Law 4/95/M of 12 June. Surveyed locations included 10 supermarkets in Santo António Parish. Consumers may now check the report data on the Council’s website (www.consumer.gov.mo), the “Supermarket Price Information Platform” app, or the Council’s WeChat account.


Members appointed for Executive Council

The fifth-term Chief Executive, Mr Ho Iat Seng, has completed the procedures – in line with the Basic Law – for the formation of the Executive Council for the fifth-term Government of the Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR).
