UM launches Macao Economic Database Project

The University of Macau (UM) today (26 September) announced the launch of the Macao Economic Database Project. The project aims to create a comprehensive database that will include all of Macao’s major economic indicators. The database is expected to help researchers, students, and the general public to better understand Macao’s economic and social development so that effective actions can be taken to increase the quality of life of Macao residents.


UM announces 2018-2019 macroeconomic forecast for Macao

The University of Macau (UM) Department of Economics andCentre for Macau Studiestoday (26 September) released its Macroeconomic Forecast for Macao 2018-2019. Macao’s economy has recovered substantially. Real GDP grew by 9.1% and recorded MOP 395.2 billion in 2017. Macao's GDP is expected to grow by 8.3% in 2018, and is expected to grow by 7.1% in 2019. However, based on the external economic factors and policies of service exports, Macao's GDP may fluctuate in the short term, and the research team will regularly update the forecast with the latest data.


Registration for half marathon and mini marathon of the 2018 Macao Galaxy Entertainment International Marathon is now full

Registration for 2018 Macao Galaxy Entertainment International Marathon, organized by the Sports Bureau of Macao SAR Government and the General Association of Athletics of Macau and title sponsored by the Galaxy Entertainment Group has received overwhelming response. After the conclusion of registration for the half marathon category yesterday, the Organizing Committee announced that places for the mini marathon have all been taken up today. Limited places are currently left for the marathon category, so interested runners for the marathon category are advised to submit their applications as soon as possible. Participants can choose to register online via event website www.macaomarathon.com, or onsite at the General Association of Athletics of Macau (Stadium of Olympic Sport Centre).
