The Consumer Council conducted its ‘Supermarket price survey’ of the second-half of September on 23 September for the implementation of Section 2b), Article 10, Law 4/95/M of 12 June. Surveyed locations included 10 supermarkets in Santo António Parish. Consumers may now check the report data on the Council’s website (www.consumer.gov.mo), the “Supermarket Price Information Platform” app, or the Council’s WeChat account.

With the opportunities posed by the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, the cooperation and exchange of commercial and economic activities between the Mainland and Macao have become more frequent. To further strengthen the cooperation and bilateral communication, GIF has been paying regular visits to the Mainland’s anti-money laundering (AML) departments. For this reason, the Director of GIF, Ms. Connie Chu I, together with three GIF representatives, went to Beijing on 12^th September 2019, and visited the AML Bureau of the People’s Bank of China (PBOC) and the China Anti-Money Laundering Monitoring and Analysis Center (CAMLMAC).

Hosted by the Government of the Macao Special Administrative Region and the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine of the People’s Republic of China, and coordinated by the Traditional Chinese Medicine Science and Technology Industrial Park of Co-operation between Guangdong and Macao (hereinafter referred to as GMTCM Park), the 2019 Traditional Medicine International Cooperation Forum (Macao, China) will open at The Venetian Macao on 25 September. The two-day forum, themed as "Sharing Achievements of Traditional Medicine, Deepening International Exchange and Cooperation", will be attended by more than 700 participants from mainland China, Macao, the EU, ASEAN and Portuguese-speaking countries and regions.

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that visitor arrivals increased by 6.5% year-on-year to 3,623,116 in August 2019; same-day visitors (1,926,319) surged by 20.2% while overnight visitors (1,696,797) dropped by 5.7%. The average length of stay of visitors held stable at 1.2 days, with that of overnight visitors (2.3 days) rising by 0.1 day and same-day visitors (0.2 day) remaining unchanged.

The distribution work of 2019 Wealth Partaking Scheme finished on 13 September this year. In the course of implementation, 377,489 beneficiaries had received the cash premium by means of bank transfer, accounting for MOP$ 3,690,098,000, while 338,621 crossed cheques had been mailed, which summed up to MOP$ 3,280,238,000. Until the present time, 239,603 cheques were honoured, representing 70.8% of the total number of cheques issused.
