Arrangements on Immigration Services from 3 to 7 February

According to Executive Order No. 11/CE/2020, in view of the development of the outbreak of the novel coronavirus and to reduce the risk of the spread of the virus, public administration staff will be exempted from work from 3 to 7 February, but public departments will maintain basic services. Hence, the services counters of the Public Security Police Force at the Immigration Building at Pac On, Taipa, the Macao Government Services Centre at Areia Preta and the Macao Government Services Centre in Islands will provide limited services during normal office hours from 3 to 7 February. The services include:


Cultural Affairs Bureau cancels all activities scheduled for February Applications for filming permit and financial support for events remain open

In response to the ongoing outbreak of new coronavirus, the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym), cancelled all external activities that are scheduled for February, and all cultural venues of the IC will remain closed until further notice.


CCAC Temporarily Adjusts Service Time of Declaration of Assets and Interests Division between 3rd and 7th February

During the exemption from for workers of the public services between 3rd and 7th February, the CCAC will adjust the service time of the Declaration of Assets and Interests located on the 16th floor of Golden Dragon Centre, as follows:


UM professional team works with government to provide psychological counselling during epidemic period

As the novel coronavirus epidemic continues to develop, the University of Macau (UM) starting today will assign a nine-member professional psychological counselling team to work with the Macao SAR government and provide mental health support for those affected. The team comprises three professors of psychiatry and clinical psychology, as well as six professional psychotherapists and counsellors from the university’s Psychological Counselling Centre.


Revised Arrangement for Acceptance of Postal Objects

CTT Macao would like to inform that starting from 3rd February 2020, correspondence, parcel and EMS items to all destinations will be accepted (with exception for countries/regions that have suspended their services). As there are some postal administrations that provide transit service are only providing limited services, there may be delays in the distribution of the postal items to foreign destinations.


Package tours and hotel occupancy rate for December 2019

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that visitors on package tours tumbled by 41.8% year-on-year to 543,000 in December 2019, with those coming from mainland China (416,000), the Republic of Korea (38,000) and Taiwan (58,000) declining by 44.4%, 39.1% and 6.8% respectively. For the whole year of 2019, number of package tour visitors decreased by 8.7% year-on-year to 8,333,000; those from mainland China (6,440,000) and the Republic of Korea (584,000) fell by 9.8% and 5.4% respectively, whereas those from Hong Kong (148,000) and Taiwan (710,000) grew by 4.0% and 2.0%.


Employment survey for October-December 2019

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that the general unemployment rate for October-December 2019 was 1.7%, the unemployment rate of local residents was 2.3%, and the underemployment rate was 0.5%. All three indicators remained steady compared to the previous period (September-November 2019).


All community and day service facilities are suspended

In response to the actual needs of the new coronavirus epidemic prevention work, Social Welfare Bureau has coordinated all community / day social service facilities to further adjust the operating arrangements, operations are suspended from now to February 10. If there is a special need, you can seek for necessary assistance from your facilities. The above arrangements can be found on Social Welfare Bureau's website atwww.ias.gov.mo.


Social Welfare Bureau urges social service facilities to cooperate with SAR Government's external employment accommodation arrangements

In response to the SAR government's appealing to employers to provide accommodations for foreign workers who need to stay in Macau and for those without the necessity, stay in Zhuhai temporarily and do not return to Macao. Social Welfare Bureau urges all social service facilities, especially accommodation facilities, if employing foreign employees who need to travel to and from Zhuhai, they should do their best to cooperate with the above arrangements, be flexible with human resources response, and maintain necessary basic services.


DSEJ STRONGLY URGES TEACHERS AND STUDENTS TO QUARANTINE THEMSELVES AT HOME

Due to the continued development of the novel coronavirus epidemic, to ensure effective personal and community epidemic prevention, the DSEJ strongly urges teachers and students to quarantine themselves at home; they should neither go out nor gather unless it is necessary. Cross-border students must stay at home and do not need to come to Macao to attend classes, unless it is necessary, they should not go out or go to crowded places until classes are resumed.
