Finals of 3rd Chinese-Portuguese Translation Contest for Higher Education Institutions in China to be held at UM
The finals of the 3rd Chinese-Portuguese Translation Contest for Higher Education Institutions in China will be held concurrently at the University of Macau (UM) and Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU) on 22 November. A total of 84 students from 26 higher education institutions in Macao and mainland China will participate in the contest. The event, jointly organised by UM’s Chinese-Portuguese Bilingual Teaching and Training Centre and BFSU, aims to promote exchanges in Portuguese language teaching between Macao and mainland institutions, encourage students majoring in Portuguese studies to gain practical experience in Chinese-Portuguese translation, and identify high-quality Chinese-Portuguese translation talent.

Cultural industries statistics 2023
Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that in 2023, a total of 2,866 organisations were operating in the four domains of the cultural industries in Macao (namely "Digital media", "Creative design", "Cultural exhibitions & performances" and "Art collection"), representing a year-on-year increase of 112. In addition, number of persons engaged (13,976) rose by 15.3%. With the SAR Government’s continuous effort to promote the development of the cultural industries, coupled with the gradual recovery of the local economy, total Service Receipts grew substantially, up by 47.9% year-on-year to MOP 8.72 billion. When compared to 2019, a growth of 10.0% was recorded (MOP 7.93 billion in 2019). Gross Value Added that reflects the industry's contribution to the economy went up by 24.5% to MOP 2.90 billion.

[Macau R&D and Hengqin Commercialization] Joint Research Projects of the Ministry of Science and Technology of China and the Macau Science Fund Exhibited at the Zhuhai Airshow
The 15th China International Aviation & Aerospace Exhibition was held from November 12 to 17, 2024, in Zhuhai, Guangdong. A joint research project between the Macau Science and Technology Development Fund (FDCT) and the Ministry of Science and Technology of China, titled "Research and Development of New Solid-State Additive Manufacturing Key Technologies and Equipment for High Corrosion-Resistant Components," was showcased at the exhibition. FDCT Administrative Committee Chairman, Mr. Chio Weng Keong, and Committee Member, Mr. Cheang Kun Wai, along with their delegation, attended the event for visits and exchanges.
