Consumer Council released 1st supermarket price survey report of the current month
The Consumer Council conducted its ‘Supermarket price survey’ of the first-half of May on 6 May for the implementation of Section 2b), Article 10, Law 4/95/M of 12 June. Surveyed locations included 14 supermarkets in Nossa Senhora de Fátima Parish. Consumers may now check the report data on the Council’s website (www.consumer.gov.mo), the “Supermarket Price Information Platform” app, or the Council’s WeChat account.

Workshop proposed by UM scholar receives grant from Harvard-Yenching Institute
An international workshop titled ‘The (Un)Making of China: A Frontier Approach’, jointly proposed by Associate Professor Yang Bin from the Department of History, Faculty of Arts and Humanities, University of Macau (UM), and Dr Sittithep Eaksittipong from the Department of History at Chiang Mai University, received a grant from the Harvard-Yenching Institute.
The proposed workshop aims to discuss the conceptualisation of ‘China’ from the perspective of frontier. An interdisciplinary approach will be adopted to analyse the transformation of China over the course of more than 2,000 years.

ARTmusing Summer Workshops 2019 Sizzling creativity for everyone
The Macao Cultural Centre, under the auspices of the Cultural Affairs Bureau, presents the ARTmusing Summer workshops, a series of activities conceived for all tastes and ages, from babies and children to parents and youth, without forgetting the seniors. Exhibition “Apparition” by Heidi Lau at the “58th International Art Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia”
Organised by the Macao Museum of Art (MAM, from the Portuguese acronym), under the auspices of the Cultural Affairs Bureau, the Macao-China Pavilion will be inaugurated on 9 May (Thursday) at the 58th International Art Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia in Venice, Italy. The exhibition of the Macao-China Pavilion entitled “Apparition” will showcase 10 pieces/sets of ceramic installations by Macao’s young artist, Heidi Lau, aiming to “apparate” the “invisible” Macao in response to the theme of this year’s La Biennale, “May you live in interesting times”. The works that constitute the Macao exhibition have been sent to Venice and the curator Lam Sio Man, artist Heidi Lau and the exhibition team of the MAM have also arrived to set up the exhibition, hoping to leave the audience with the best impression.

Macao Public Library launches the 18th issue of Books and the City
The Macao Public Library, under the Cultural Affairs Bureau, launches the 18th issue of Books and the City, which is already available to the public. As a special issue about ‘books on beverages’, this edition features an interview with two professional publishers of books about the alcohol industry, who introduce several quality books and magazines on beverages to guide readers through an intoxicating reading experience.
