Exhibition “Assemblage of Treasures – Exhibition of the Macao Museum Collection in Celebration of the 20th Anniversary” opens on Friday

In order to celebrate its 20th anniversary, the Macao Museum, under the auspices of the Cultural Affairs Bureau, organises the exhibition “Assemblage of Treasures – Exhibition of the Macao Museum Collection for Celebration of the 20th Anniversary”, to be inaugurated on 28 September (Friday), at 6pm, at the lobby of the Macao Museum. The exhibition runs from 29 September 2018 to 24 February 2019 (closed on Mondays). The exhibition features over eighty items/ sets of treasures selected from exquisite collections of the Museum, thereby showcasing the continuous dedication of the Macao Museum in collecting historical relics with cultural and artistic value related to Macao.


Registration for half marathon of the 2018 Macao Galaxy Entertainment International Marathon is now full

Registration for 2018 Macao Galaxy Entertainment International Marathon, organized by the Sports Bureau of Macao SAR Government and the General Association of Athletics of Macau and title sponsored by the Galaxy Entertainment Group, has received overwhelming response. The Organizing Committee announced that places for the half marathon have all been taken up today, while limited places are left for the marathon and mini marathon categories. Interested runners are advised to submit their applications as early as possible. Participants can choose to register online via event website www.macaomarathon.com, or onsite at the General Association of Athletics of Macau (Stadium of Olympic Sport Centre).


32nd MIMF presents two Chinese music concerts in October

The 32nd Macao International Music Festival (MIMF), organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC), will offer two Chinese traditional music concerts in October. The seven movements of the symphonic suite Cantonese Rhyme along the Silk Road will take the audience on a journey through the magnificent Maritime Silk Road while Chinese suona legend Guo Yazhi will present the concert Nostalgic Lane, taking audience on a music journey to appreciate suona and Chinese music from a whole new perspective. Interested music aficionados are advised to purchase tickets as soon as possible.


Consumer Council released latest ‘Supermarket price survey’ in Taipa and Coloane area

Consumer Council conducted its latest ‘Supermarket price survey’ on 24 September for the implementation of Section 2b), Article 10, Law 4/95/M of 12 June. Surveyed locations included 11 supermarkets in Taipa and Coloane area.





UM students win US psychology awards with Macao-themed study

Four students from the Department of Psychology, Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Macau (UM), won best student poster awards for their senior honours thesis poster presentations at the 2018 Convention of the American Psychological Association (APA), one of the oldest and most respected psychology associations in the world. This is the first time undergraduate students from UM’s Department of Psychology have received the best student poster awards from the APA convention, the largest annual conference in the field of psychology. The students’ supervisor is Prof Brian Hall from the same department. The poster presentations are part of Prof Hall’s ongoing public health research programme in Macao, and all the projects and data originated in Macao.


“Collective Exhibition of Macao Visual Arts 2018” opens on Thursday

Organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau, the “Collective Exhibition of Macao Visual Arts 2018” will be inaugurated on 27 September (Thursday), at 6:30pm, at the Tap Seac Gallery. The opening ceremony will be open to the general public.


Submission date for “3rd Macao Printmaking Triennial” extended until 15 October

The submission date for the “3rd Macao Printmaking Triennial”, organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau, is extended until 15 October. All interested artists are welcome to participate in this Triennial.
