23rd Macao City Fringe Festival calls for proposals for programmes and performance venues

The 23rd Macao City Fringe Festival, organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym), will be held in March 2025. The call for proposals for programmes and performance venues is now open, and all local artistic and cultural associations, curators, producers, independent artists and those interested in artistic creation are welcome to submit their proposals. Applicants are encouraged to show an innovative spirit and risk-taking attitude to break the barriers of traditional venues and to create works that highlight the characteristics and cultural connotations of the city. All those responsible for local venues are also invited to submit proposals for performance venues so as to provide exhibition or performance spaces for the Fringe Festival. The call for submission is from today until 5pm on 6 November 2024.


Commemorative postmark cancellation service of “Open Day of Government Headquarters of the MSAR”

To celebrate the Open Day of Government Headquarters of the MSAR, Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau announces that a Temporary Post Counter will be set up at Avenida Panorâmica do Lago Nam Van, from 09:00 to 18:00 on 26th and 27th October 2024, to provide the commemorative postmark cancellation service for the “Open Day of Government Headquarters of the MSAR”.


A briefing Session on the Non-Mandatory Central Provident Fund System is Held for the Property Management Business Association Macao

The Social Security Fund (abbreviated to FSS in Macao) recently held a briefing session on the Non-Mandatory Central Provident Fund System for the Property Management Business Association Macao, attracting nearly 50 members to participate, including the company management and personnel responsible for human resources. The FSS introduced them to the benefits of participating in the Central Provident Fund, and the process of joining it. The briefing session received a positive response from its attendees.

To support the appropriate diversification of Macao's economy, the Commerce and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) conducted investment promotion work in Hangzhou and Shenyang in late September, aiming to attract more emerging enterprises to invest in Macao. During this period, IPIM engaged in in-depth exchanges with several well-known local enterprises and business associations, receiving positive feedback.



Government Headquarters Open Day sessions on 26 and 27 October

The Government Headquarters Open Day sessions will this year be held on Saturday, 26 October, and Sunday, 27 October, from 9am to 6pm.


Cultural Affairs Bureau calls for stall operators to participate in the “Craft Market in the Greater Bay Area” in Shenzhen

In order to strengthen exchange and cooperation in the cultural and creative industries in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym) and Shenzhen OCT-LOFT jointly organise the “Shenzhen T-Street Creative Mart x Macao Tap Siac Craft Market” and the participation of local cultural and creative entities in the Shenzhen market in December. Applications for stall operators and handicraft workshop are open from today until 17 October, and application is free.



Press meeting with the cast of the opera Tosca by Giacomo Puccini before the opening of the 36th Macao International Music Festival

Organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym), the opening performance Tosca – Opera in Three Acts by Giacomo Puccini, integrated in the 36th Macao International Music Festival, will be held from 4 to 6 October, at the Macao Cultural Centre Grand Auditorium. The organiser held a press meeting today (3 October), in which the Director of the Festival’s programme, Lio Kuokman; singers from Mariinsky Theatre from Russia, including Tatiana Serjan, Najmiddin Mavlyanov and Vladislav Sulimsky, and the opera concert mistress Irina Soboleva, met with the media to share their thoughts about the show.


Monetary and financial statistics – August 2024

According to statistics released today (3 October) by the Monetary Authority of Macao, broad money supply continued to grow in August. Meanwhile, resident deposits rose from a month ago whereas loans to residents posted a decline.
