Investment Promotion in Portugal and Spain Received a Positive Response to Set the Stage for the First Store Economy

The Commerce and Investment Promotion Institute (“IPIM”) of Macao has conducted a roadshow of the “Programme for Supporting the Development of Macao First Store Economy” (“First Store Economy Programme”) in Lisbon and Porto, Portugal, as well as Madrid and Barcelona, Spain from 4 to 11 October, attracting around 100 representatives of local business associations and enterprises to the event. The roadshow was well received by the participants. During the period, the delegation also visited many well-known local enterprises, international chain brands and chambers of commerce to present Macao business environment and policies, the “China-PSCs Business Compass” and the Investor’s “One-Stop Service”, further expanding the European investment promotion network.



UM, University of Coimbra hold joint conference on public law

The Joint Conference between University of Macau and University of Coimbra was commenced at the University of Macau (UM) today (13 October), bringing together over 100 experts and scholars from the Chinese mainland, Macao, and Portuguese-speaking countries to discuss cutting-edge issues in the development of the rule of law.

Welcome to Join UTM Discovery Day: A journey of exploration from Campus to Industry

The Macao University of Tourism (UTM) will hold the “UTM Discovery Day: Exploring Educational Excellence” event on 25 October 2025 (Saturday). Through various activities, the event will provide an opportunity for students, parents and friends from Macao and neighbouring regions to obtain the latest admission information and learn about its academic characteristics and culture. Participants will also have the chance to experience university life. Registration is now open, and all interested parties are welcome to register for participation.


PBOC and AMCM sign MOU on Cross-Boundary Linkage of Payment Systems between the Mainland and Macao

The People's Bank of China (PBOC) and the Monetary Authority of Macao (AMCM) signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the PBOC and the AMCM on Cross-Boundary Linkage of Payment Systems between the Mainland and Macao today (13 October), establishing a cooperation framework to enhance the efficiency and quality of cross-boundary payment services between the Mainland and Macao. The PBOC and the AMCM will facilitate financial institutions from both sides to provide residents with safe, efficient, and convenient cross-boundary fund transfer channels.


Consultative Committee on Municipal Affairs and Community Service Consultative Committee both endorse revitalisation plan of Tamagnini Barbosa Market and conceptual proposal of Children’s Exploration Pavilion

The Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) introduced the revitalisation plan of Tamagnini Barbosa Market and the conceptual proposal of Children’s Exploration Pavilion in Avenida de Venceslau de Morais to Consultative Committee on Municipal Affairs and Community Service Consultative Committee separately and listened to their respective opinions. Both Consultative Committees expressed their endorsement of the mentioned projects. They believed that the introduction of a cooked food area to Tamagnini Barbosa Market can increase the vibrancy of the market and people flow; and they hoped that the proposal of the Children’s Exploration Pavilion can be actualised as soon as possible to provide a high-quality indoor play space for the children and adolescents in Macao. IAM will continue to listen to the opinions of the community, so as to deepen the design of the mentioned projects, make progress and actualise them in an orderly manner.
