Hugo Calderano and Sun Yingsha crowned champions of ITTF Men's and Women's World Cup Macao 2025 presented by Galaxy Entertainment Group

The finals of the ITTF Men's and Women's World Cup Macao 2025 presented by Galaxy Entertainment Group, sanctioned by the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF), organized by the Sports Bureau, Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG) and World Table Tennis Management Group Limited (WTMG), and co-organized by the Macau Table Tennis General Association, were held today (20 April) at the Galaxy Arena. Hugo Calderano clinched the Men’s World Cup title and the Evan’s Cup, while Sun Yingsha defended her Women’s World Cup title and took home the Hammarlund Cup.

The opening ceremony of the Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA) Fair 2025 was held yesterday (19 April), with Macao in the spotlight for being this edition’s “International Favourite Destination” and because Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) also received an award in the category of “Best National Tourism Organisation (NTO) Booth” for its creativity and innovation.

The semifinals of the ITTF Men's and Women's World Cup Macao 2025 presented by Galaxy Entertainment Group, sanctioned by the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF), organized by the Sports Bureau, Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG) and World Table Tennis Management Group Limited (WTMG), and co-organized by the Macau Table Tennis General Association, were held today (19 April) at the Galaxy Arena. Tomorrow’s finals (20 April) will see Sun Yingsha, Kuai Man, Lin Shidong, and Brazil’s Hugo Calderano competing for the gold medals.

The knockout stage of the ITTF Men's and Women's World Cup Macao 2025 presented by Galaxy Entertainment Group, sanctioned by the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF), organized by the Sports Bureau, Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG) and World Table Tennis Management Group Limited (WTMG), and co-organized by the Macau Table Tennis General Association, continued today (18 April) at the Galaxy Arena. All semi-final berths have been confirmed after today’s quarterfinals.



18 Macao and Hengqin Enterprises Participate in the Singapore MICE Event, with Business Matching Negotiations Increasing by Over 11%

The Macao Commerce and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) and the Economic Development Bureau of the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin collaborated to demonstrate the distinctive appeal and potential of the “Multi-venue Event” model to the global MICE industry during “The Meetings Show Asia Pacific” in Singapore from 16 to 17 April. Centred around the theme “MICE² Macao x Hengqin, A New Chapter”, the “Macao-Hengqin Pavilion” was set up and 18 MICE enterprises from these two regions were organised to participate in the event, leading to nearly 600 business matching negotiations with overseas buyers, up 11% year-on-year.

The quarter-finals lineup was set after today’s round of 16 matches.


First Macau Forum on Emotional Artificial Intelligence held at UM

The Institute of Collaborative Innovation (ICI) of the University of Macau (UM) held the first Macau Forum on Emotional Artificial Intelligence. The forum brought together renowned scholars from the fields of computer science, robotics, cognitive neuroscience, linguistics, communication studies, and psychology, who presented the latest advancements in affective computing and emotion-aware artificial intelligence (AI), and explored how innovative technologies can detect human emotions through verbal, non-verbal cues, and even brain signals. Around 200 people attended the forum.
