35th Macao International Music Festival created a feast to boost the development of a performing arts city
The 35th Macao International Music Festival (MIMF), organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym), sucessfully came to an end. This year, 16 eclectic programmes and 14 outreach activities were successfully held. Various captivating performances were brought to the stage, including the return of opera production in Macao and the debut of maestro Joe Hisaishi in the Region, the performances by maverick conductor Teodor Currentzis and his musicAeterna Orchestra, the a cappella enesembles Naturally 7 and the King’s Singers, and conductor Long Yu, “the most powerful figure in China’s classical music scene”, conducting the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra. Various artists participated in this edition of the MIMF, creating “melodic reconnections” with music aficionados.

Public tender of 15 market stalls to close next Thursday
The Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) puts 5 stalls in Horta da Mitra Market and 10 stalls in Patane Food Court out to public tender. The closing date for submission of tenders is on 16 November. People who are interested in participating in the public tender are required to submit the application form, the tender proposal and other documents before 5:00 p.m. on that day.

Autumn Tap Siac Craft Market inaugurates next Thursday
Organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from its Portuguese acronym), the Autumn Tap Siac Craft Market will be held from 16 to 19 and from 23 to 26 November at Tap Siac Square. This year marks the 15th Anniversary of the Tap Siac Craft Market, and the opening ceremony will be held on 16 November (Thursday) at 6pm, featuring singer Ng Lam Fung as guest performer. All are welcome to participate in this cultural and creative feast of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

Residential property price index for July – September 2023
Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that the overall residential property price index for July - September 2023 decreased by 2.1% over the previous period (June - August 2023) to 243.0. The indices for the Macao Peninsula (240.6) and Taipa & Coloane (252.6) dropped by 2.0% and 2.3% respectively.

China and the Portuguese-speaking Countries Film Festival is held in November Cinematheque・Passion presents excellent films from China and Portuguese-speaking countries
Organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym), the “China and the Portuguese-speaking Countries Film Festival” will be held from 10 to 24 November. Themed “Dresses Galore in Films”, the Film Festival will screen over 20 Chinese and Portuguese film productions at Cinematheque・Passion. Ticket sales are now open, and outreach activities will be available for the public to join.

First Forestry-Themed Conference in Macao GLSTF 2023 to Kick off on 21-22 November
The Global Legal & Sustainable Timber Forum (GLSTF) 2023, co-hosted by the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) and the International Tropical Timber Organization (ITTO), will be held on 21-22 November at the Galaxy International Convention Center, on the theme “Connect, Cooperate and Share to Promote the Recovery of the Global Tropical Timber Market”. It is the first forestry-themed conference held in Macao.
