The 35^th Macao International Music Festival (MIMF), organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym), sucessfully came to an end. This year, 16 eclectic programmes and 14 outreach activities were successfully held. Various captivating performances were brought to the stage, including the return of opera production in Macao and the debut of maestro Joe Hisaishi in the Region, the performances by maverick conductor Teodor Currentzis and his musicAeterna Orchestra, the a cappella enesembles Naturally 7 and the King’s Singers, and conductor Long Yu, “the most powerful figure in China’s classical music scene”, conducting the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra. Various artists participated in this edition of the MIMF, creating “melodic reconnections” with music aficionados.

Organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from its Portuguese acronym), the Autumn Tap Siac Craft Market will be held from 16 to 19 and from 23 to 26 November at Tap Siac Square. This year marks the 15^th Anniversary of the Tap Siac Craft Market, and the opening ceremony will be held on 16 November (Thursday) at 6pm, featuring singer Ng Lam Fung as guest performer. All are welcome to participate in this cultural and creative feast of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that the overall residential property price index for July - September 2023 decreased by 2.1% over the previous period (June - August 2023) to 243.0. The indices for the Macao Peninsula (240.6) and Taipa & Coloane (252.6) dropped by 2.0% and 2.3% respectively.

The Global Legal & Sustainable Timber Forum (GLSTF) 2023, co-hosted by the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) and the International Tropical Timber Organization (ITTO), will be held on 21-22 November at the Galaxy International Convention Center, on the theme “Connect, Cooperate and Share to Promote the Recovery of the Global Tropical Timber Market”. It is the first forestry-themed conference held in Macao.
