The 2023 Annual Report of the Commission Against Corruption of Macao was published in the Official Gazette of the Macao Special Administrative Region today (12^th June). According to the report, the CCAC proactively seized the opportunities in the wake of the revival after the epidemic and sought improvement in corruption fighting, ombudsman actions and promotion and education. The CCAC placed a total of 249 cases on file in 2023, including 102 corruption cases, 123 ombudsman cases and 24 mutual assistance cases placed on file at the request of law-enforcement agencies outside the region. In addition, there were a total of 387 cases which were archived or were referred to competent departments for follow-up for the reason that they did not meet the conditions to be placed on file.

In order to promote the unique and rich history and culture of Macao, the Cultural Affairs Bureau Online Book Shop continues to offer readers 50% and 10% discounts on the purchase of the Review of Culture this year. The periodical published by the Cultural Affairs Bureau aims to propel academic exchanges between Macao and other regions, promoting cultural exchanges between the East and the West, and exploring the unique characteristics of Macao as well as the history complemented by Chinese and Western cultures. Currently, the publication implements a peer review system, and the Chinese edition has been included in the Chinese Social Sciences Citation Index (CSSCI).

The Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM), Wynn Resorts (Macau), S.A. and the Industry and Commerce Association of Macau have jointly organised the “June SMEs Product Sales” at the back of house areas of Wynn Macau and Wynn Palace from 4 to 7 June. A total of 20 “Macao Ideas” exhibitors and Macao small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) were participated. According to exhibitors’ feedbacks, the event has provided a platform for local SMEs to promote products and to raise brand awareness, and they are satisfied with the footfall and sales performance.

According to statistics released today (11 June) by the Monetary Authority of Macao, new approvals of residential mortgage loans (RMLs) and commercial real estate loans (CRELs) both increased month-on-month in April 2024. With regard to the outstanding balances, both RMLs and CRELs witnessed declines on a monthly basis.
