Four exhibitions from the Local Curatorial Project for Art Macao showcase outstanding creations and exploration of Macao’s contemporary art
In the “Local Curatorial Project”, featured in the “Art Macao: Macao International Art Biennale 2023”, four remarkable exhibitions, namely “The Typhoon of Destiny”, “Synchronicity – Topology of Mind”, “Revelation to __” and “The Secret of the Golden Flower”, have recently made their grand debuts, showcasing the keen exploration and creativity of local contemporary art. Admission to the exhibitions is free.

MPU-Bell Centre of English: 4th quarter training courses now open for registration
To accommodate the needs for the development of society, the MPU-Bell Centre of English will launch different series of English learning courses for the autumn and winter. The courses include IELTS, General English and Teacher Training, all of which have been included in the DSEDJ Continuous Improvement and Development Programme. Owing to the typhoon’s impact, the last two fireworks shows of the 31st Macao International Fireworks Display Contest will be postponed to 11 Oct (this Wednesday) at 9 p.m. and 9:40 p.m. The “Fireworks Carnival” and two “Fireworks Extravaganza” markets held in tandem with the contest will add a lively atmosphere to the event. The winnner of this years’ contest will also be announced on that evening.

The Fourth Extraordinary Congress of the Universal Postal Union
The Fourth Extraordinary Congress of the Universal Postal Union (UPU) was held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia from 1st to 5th October 2023. The UPU Strategy Summit 2023 was also organized as part of the congress under the theme: “People, Purpose, Progress – The Next Chapter for the Postal Sector”. The Chinese delegation, leaded by Mr. Zhao Min, Deputy Director of the State Post Bureau, with Mr. Guo Chenglin, Chief Accountant of the China Post Group, Ms. Tai Shuk-yiu, Postmaster General of Hongkong Post and Ms. Lau Wai Meng, Director of the Macau Post and Telecommunications Bureau as deputy heads, represented China and participated at the Fourth Extraordinary Congress.

Residential property price index for June – August 2023
Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that the overall residential property price index for June - August 2023 decreased by 0.9% over the previous period (May - July 2023) to 248.2. The index for the Macao Peninsula (245.5) dropped by 1.3% while that for Taipa & Coloane (258.6) rose by 0.5%.
