【Top one international visitor market】Experience Macao roadshow grandly opens in Korea to spotlight destination appeal

Organized by Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO), the “Experience Macao roadshow in Korea” was unveiled with an opening ceremony today (30 May). The roadshow manifests Macao’s vibrant dynamic as a travel destination and the spectacular colors of “tourism +” it has to offer, with the aim to draw Korean visitors and tap into the top one international visitor market.

[Green Innovative Digital Connectivity] The 15th International Infrastructure Investment and Construction Forum to Be Held in Macao from 19 to 21 June

The Organising Committee of the International Infrastructure Investment and Construction Forum (IIICF) announced today (10 May) in Beijing that the 15th IIICF, jointly organised by the China International Contractors Association and the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM), will take place in Macao from 19 to 21 June. The Forum will coincide with the 10th China-CELAC Infrastructure Cooperation Forum, organised by the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China.

Children’s Funday at MNN event to be rescheduled

Delegation led by Secretary Ao Ieong U participates in U.S.-China Bay to Bay Dialogue in the United States

The U.S.-China Bay to Bay Dialogue, co-organised by the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, the People’s Government of Guangdong Province, the California government, and the California-China Climate Institute, took place in San Francisco, US, on 29 May (San Francisco time). The Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture Ms Ao Ieong U led, on behalf of the Chief Executive, the delegation of the Government of the Macao Special Administrative Region (Macao SAR) to participate in the event. Other honoured attendees included Governor of Guangdong Province, Mr Wang Weizhong; Governor of California, Mr Gavin Newsom; President of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, Mr Yang Wanming; Financial Secretary of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (Hong Kong SAR), Mr Chan Mo-po; and Consul General of the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in San Francisco, Mr Zhang Jianmin.


Transport and communications statistics for April 2024

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that licensed motor vehicles in Macao totalled 250,167 as at end-April 2024, up by 0.4% year-on-year, with light automobiles (116,379) rising by 2.1%. New registration of motor vehicles in April went up by 0.4% year-on-year to 937 (including 273 electric vehicles); of which, light automobiles increased by 20.2% to 452 (75 of them were electric), whereas heavy motorcycles dropped by 17.1% to 379 (104 of them were electric). In the first four months of 2024, new registration of motor vehicles grew by 2.4% year-on-year to 4,022. Number of traffic accidents in April climbed by 16.6% year-on-year to 1,250, with 493 persons injured. In the first four months of 2024, there were 5,005 traffic accidents, which resulted in 2 deaths and 1,817 injuries.
