Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) organised the “Qingdao-Macao MICE, Trade and Investment Promotion Seminar” today (June 9th), taking the opportunity of the “Macao Week in Shandong•Qingdao” to promote Macao’s MICE and investment business environment, the Sino-Lusophone platform and the Guangdong-Macao In-Deepth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin to businessmen in Qingdao. The event will also enable Macao enterprises to grasp the cutting-edge investment trends and MICE advantages in Qingdao. On the occasion of its 10th anniversary, the University of Macau (UM) Faculty of Health Sciences (FHS) kicked off the Ninth Macau Symposium on Biomedical Sciences today (15 June). Over 400 biomedical experts, researchers, and students from around the world will participate in the four-day event, which will involve both virtual and in-person elements and feature nearly 80 talks with the theme ‘health’ on cutting-edge research and innovative technology in biomedical sciences.

The Monetary Authority of Macao announced today that the preliminary estimate of Macao SAR’s foreign exchange reserves amounted to MOP217.8 billion (USD26.98 billion) at the end of May 2023. The reserves increased by 2.0% from the revised value of MOP213.4 billion (USD26.40 billion) for the previous month. Macao SAR’s foreign exchange reserves at end-May 2023 represented 10 times the currency in circulation or 86.4% of pataca M2 at end-April 2023.

The five-day event of “Macao Week in Shandong•Qingdao” closed today (12 June). 28 Macao enterprises led by the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) have harvested thrilling results in product sales. The products made in Macao, Macao brands and products from Portuguese-speaking countries are very popular with the consumers in Qingdao. Nearly half of the enterprises have sold out their products on the fourth day of the exhibition, keeping only a few samples for display and promotion; while other enterprises have dispatched more products to the exhibition for several times.
