[Showcasing the Role of Green MICE Platform] 2023MIECF Successfully Concludes, Nearly 400 Meetings Facilitated 40 Co-operation Projects

The “2023 Macao International Environmental Co-operation Forum & Exhibition” (2023MIECF) hosted by the Macao SAR Government culminated in success today (20 August). The four-day event incorporated close to 20 forums and meetings held by professional organisations in different industries and five business matching sessions were arranged by the 2023MIECF, where nearly 400 business matching meetings were conducted, with almost 40 partnerships clinched. As such, the 2023MIECF has continued to generate green business co-operation opportunities.

[Promoting Green Development] Four-Day 2023 Macao International Environmental Co-operation Forum & Exhibition Opens Today (17 August)

Hosted by the Government of the Macao Special Administrative Region, the 2023 Macao International Environmental Co-operation Forum & Exhibition (2023MIECF) will be held for four consecutive days from today (17 August) at Cotai Expo, The Venetian Macao under the theme of “Building an Ecological Civilisation Through Innovative Initiatives”. It will continue to function as a professional exhibition dedicated to “carbon neutrality” and a green environmental platform.


2023MIECF Keynote Speaker Professor Lan Hong Shares Green Finance Insights

At the opening ceremony of the 2023 Macao International Environmental Co-operation Forum & Exhibition (2023MIECF) held today (17 August), Professor Lan Hong, Deputy Director of the Eco-finance Research Centre of the Renmin University of China, Deputy Director of the Green Finance Branch of the Chinese Society for Environmental Sciences, and Deputy Director of the Green Finance Professional Committee of the China Association of Environmental Protection Industry, delivered a keynote speech on “Deepen Co-operation on Green Finance, Work Together to Achieve Carbon Neutrality”.




Consumer price index (CPI) for July 2023

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that the Composite CPI for July 2023 (104.76) grew by 0.78% year-on-year. The increment was attributed to higher charges for eating out and package tours, rising tuition fees, as well as increases in hotel room rates and clothing prices; yet, the rise was partially offset by lower rentals for dwellings and reduced airfares. Among the various sections of goods and services, the price indices of Education, Recreation & Culture and Clothing & Footwear climbed by 9.98%, 6.80% and 5.07% year-on-year respectively, whereas the indices of Transport and Housing & Fuels dropped by 4.38% and 1.74% respectively. The CPI-A (104.25) and CPI-B (105.43) recorded respective growth of 0.55% and 1.08 year-on-year.
