IAM to carry out maintenance of booking, reception and queuing management system

The Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) will carry out maintenance of information system from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on 27 January. During this period, the booking, reception and queuing management system will be out of service intermittently. IAM appeals to the public for their understanding.


IAM holds exchange sessions to help the trade understand reform of licensing procedures of food and beverage establishments

The Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) previously held two exchange sessions with the trade about the reform of “One-stop Licensing Regime of Food and Beverage Establishments”. The situations of the reform of the licensing procedures entering into force on 25 January were introduced to the trade, including the comprehensive electronic application procedures, the simultaneous execution of approval review and construction works, inclusion of fire service acceptance inspection, etc., with the aim of helping to elevate the licensing efficiency and creating a more beneficial business environment. Moreover, the representatives of the authorities answered the questions from the trade and listened to their opinions on site.


Three installations for “Light up Macao 2023” at Nam Van District will be temporarily closed for tonight and tomorrow (25 and 26 January)

Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) is informed that a private entity will hold a drone show with permission. The venue of the rehearsal and show will cover the locations of certain installations for the event of “Light up Macao 2023” in Nam Van District. For safety reasons, the light and interactive installations namely “Blossom Playground”, “Floral Wonderland” and “Butterfly Adventure Labyrinth” will be temporarily closed between 7 p.m. – 10 p.m. tonight (25 January) and 7 p.m. – 8 p.m. tomorrow (26 January), for the public’s attention.


UM students launch new book, showcasing human and cultural landscape in Macao

Students from the Department of Communication at the University of Macau (UM) held a book launch event for their capstone graduation project titled City Walk in Macau (Communicator 2024). Through this publication, the students aimed to challenge traditional learning approaches and mindsets, thus promoting strolling as an effective way to study the city of Macao and drawing attention to the act of walking in cities.


UM launches Master of Science programmes in Construction Project Management and Smart Ocean Technology

The University of Macau (UM) will offer the Master of Science (MSc) programmes in Construction Project Management and Smart Ocean Technology in the 2024/2025 academic year. Secretary in Geneva for United Nations Human Rights Council meeting

The Secretary for Administration and Justice of the Macao Special Administrative Region (MSAR) Government, Mr Cheong Weng Chon, attended a meeting of the United Nations (UN) Human Rights Council, held in relation to its Universal Periodic Review (4th Cycle) of UN Member states, and which covered a report on human rights submitted by China, which includes a section on the MSAR.

The Chief Executive, Mr Ho Iat Seng, today said he hoped that local news outlets reporting respectively in Portuguese and English could maintain their bridging role and play up to their communication strengths in terms of language and culture.



MPU Publishes Vol. 50 of Journal of One Country Two Systems Studies

Macao Polytechnic University has published the new issue of the Journal of One Country Two Systems Studies (Vol. 50). This academic periodical published by the “One Country Two Systems” Research Centre of MPU aims at giving the public an insight into the “One Country, Two Systems” policy and establishing an academic platform for the study of “One Country, Two Systems”.
