Cultural Affairs Bureau’s publications available online

In order to actively promote reading habits, share cultural resources and publication achievements with the public, and create an accessible reading experience, the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym) will transfer data from IC’s publications originally stored in the mobile application “Macao eBooks”, to the electronic subpage “Research and Publications” ( www.icm.gov.mo/academics ). Over 300 books and journals in digital form are available for the public to read online, without downloading the application. The mobile application “Macao eBooks” will be suspended from April.


IFTM Wine Appreciation Club Members Learn About Ningxia Wines

Twenty student members of the IFTM Wine Appreciation Club, an affiliate of the IFTM Student Union, were invited by Wynn Food & Beverage Academy to participate in the Ningxia wine master classes given by Master of Wine Ms. Fongyee Walker and National Wine Consultant Mr. Li Demei on February 24, 2023 at Wynn Palace.

Views on standards for use of food additives are being collected until Friday and sector is welcome to give views

The Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) is now listening to the views extensively from the local food sector regarding the amendment to the “Standards for the Use of Food Additives in Food”. IAM has earlier hosted four talks for the sector to exchange ideas on the current use of food additives and the plan to update relevant standards, and to listen to the views from the sector. In additions, the businesses in the sector may give their views by filling in the “Questionnaire on the Use of Food Additives and Views Collection Form”, or by calling the Food Safety Hotline. The views are being collected until 10 March and the sector is welcome to give views.


Celebration of 24th Anniversary of the establishment of Macao Museum of Art “Art Weekend 2023” to disseminate the spirit of “Art Boundless”

In order to attract more residents’ interest in visiting museums and enjoying an aesthetic life, the Macao Museum of Art (MAM) under the auspices of the Cultural Affairs Bureau, on the occasion of the 24th anniversary of its establishment, will hold an artistic event “Art Weekend 2023” on 18 and 19 March, taking the theme of “Art Boundless” which symbolizes the exploration of all Chinese and foreign art, as well as the creativity and sharing of art without borders. Residents are welcome to participate in the two-day event at the MAM to nourish their souls while inspiring new ideas.


Due to System Maintenance, FSS’s Electronic Services to be Suspended for This Weekend

The Social Security Fund will perform system upgrade and maintenance from 6:30 p.m. on Friday (10 March) to 6:00 a.m. on next Monday (13 March). Please note that, during this period, the Social Security Fund’s online services, the “Macao One Account”, and related programs on self-service machines will be temporarily suspended.


Dedication to diversifying source markets – MGTO arranged for Thailand KOLs to visit Macao as the first international delegation of travel media after the pandemic

As airlines successively resume international flights to Macao including routes from Thailand, Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) welcomed the first post-pandemic international familiarization group comprising Thailand influencers and media to Macao a few days ago. A travel trade delegation from Thailand will follow in mid-March for inspection and business networking in Macao. By arranging for delegation visits from different sectors in Thailand, the Office works hard to ignite Thailanders’ interest in Macao as a preferred destination, to diversify visitor source markets for tourism and economic revival.


Residential property price index for November 2022 – January 2023

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that the overall residential property price index for November 2022 - January 2023 decreased by 0.8% over the previous period (October - December 2022) to 245.2. The index for the Macao Peninsula (243.9) dropped by 1.3% while that for Taipa & Coloane (250.4) rose by 1.1%.


Book collection for the “Book Exchange” activity starts from today

In conjunction with the “City of Reading Series of Activities – Macao Library Week 2023”, the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym) launches the book collection for the “Book Exchange” activity from today until 9 April (Sunday), in order to promote reading habits as well as to encourage residents who love reading to meet friends through books and share their resources. The book collection for the activity starts from 2pm to 8pm on Monday, and from 8am to 8pm from Tuesday to Sunday, excluding on public holidays. All are welcome to participate.


DSCC launches the latest version of “Macau GeoGuide” App Light rapid transit (LRT) route planning function and satellite image data are added

The Cartography and Cadastre Bureau launches the latest version 2.6 of "Macau GeoGuide" App to tie in with the city development of Macao. In this version, on the basis of the original network of bus, walking and driving route, the light rapid transit (LRT) route is added to the route planning which further optimizing the function of travel routes planning. And satellite image is also added to enrich the user experience of map browsing.
