DSCC launches the latest version of “Macau GeoGuide” App Light rapid transit (LRT) route planning function and satellite image data are added

The Cartography and Cadastre Bureau launches the latest version 2.6 of "Macau GeoGuide" App to tie in with the city development of Macao. In this version, on the basis of the original network of bus, walking and driving route, the light rapid transit (LRT) route is added to the route planning which further optimizing the function of travel routes planning. And satellite image is also added to enrich the user experience of map browsing.


UM rector gives speech on carbon neutrality in smart city development at World Engineering Day forum

Yonghua Song, a member of the Standing Committee of the China Association for Science and Technology and rector of the University of Macau (UM), recently gave a keynote speech titled ‘Building Carbon-neutral Energy Systems for Sustainable Smart Cities through International/Institutional Cooperation’ at an international forum with the theme ‘Engineering the Cities of the Future’ in Spain. In the speech, he used Macao as an example to discuss the characteristics and development trends of urban energy consumption and carbon emission structure.

QTSAS calls for applications from catering businesses and travel agencies from 16 March

The Quality Tourism Services Accreditation Scheme (“QTSAS” or “the Scheme”) calls for applications from the catering and travel agency sectors from 16 to 31 March. Businesses can log in and submit applications on Macao Tourism Industry Net.


Academic work of Macao Polytechnic University published in top bioinformatics journal

The paper entitled "Predicting molecular properties based on the interpretable graph neural network with multistep focus mechanism" has been published by the top international bioinformatics journal, Briefings in Bioinformatics 2023, 24(1), 1-9, bbac534. The work the paper is based on was led by Professor Liu Huanxiang, Academic Leader, Centre for Artificial Intelligence Driven Drug Discovery, Faculty of Applied Sciences, Macao Polytechnic University, with Ms. Tian Yanan, a first-year doctoral student at Macao Polytechnic University, as the first author. The journal is No. 1 in the field of Mathematical and Computational Biology, with an impact factor of 13.994.


Commemorative postmark cancellation service of “World Forest Day”

To celebrate the World Forest Day, Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau announces that a Temporary Post Counter will be set up at Senado Square, from 10:00 to 17:00 on 21st March 2023 to provide commemorative postmark cancellation service for the “World Forest Day”.

UM wireless charging system receives 1st prize of sci-tech achievement award among projects from Shenzhen, Hong Kong, and Macao
