2023 SJM Macao International Dragon Boat Races to be held in June

Organised by the Sports Bureau, SJM Resorts, S.A. (SJM) and the Dragon Boat Association of Macao, China (DBAMC), and co-organised by the Municipal Affairs Bureau and the Public Administration and Civil Service Bureau, the 2023 SJM Macao International Dragon Boat Races will be held on 17, 18 and 22 June at Nam Van Lake Nautical Centre.


33rd Macao Arts Festival Outreach Programme connects with life and showcases various aspects of arts

In addition to a series of performances and exhibitions, the 33rd Macao Arts Festival (MAF) features 22 programmes in a total of 46 outreach activities, including “Meet-the-Artist” sessions, backstage tours, pre-show talks, talks, workshops, exhibitions and screenings of international stage performances, building an exchange platform from mid-April for audiences to explore the infinite possibilities of the arts.


33rd Macao Arts Festival takes audience on “The Long Artistic Journey” to contemplate artistic landscapes through 20 selected programmes

Organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Macao SAR Government, the 33rd Macao Arts Festival (MAF), will be held from 28 April to 28 May. Themed “The Long Artistic Journey”, this edition features 20 selected programmes covering theatre, opera, dance, music and the visual arts, inviting the public to be inspired by art to appreciate the beauty of life and the most beautiful landscapes, looking forward to the future with both a local focus and a global vision.


Cultural Affairs Bureau carries out enhancement works at The House of Macao Literature

The Cultural Affairs Bureau will carry out partial interior space enhancement works in the annex building of The House of Macao Literature from 17 March, which are expected to be completed in early May. During the renovation period, The House of Macao Literature will remain open to the public,and visitors’ experience will not be affected.

Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) works with an unyielding commitment to diversifying visitor source markets for Macao. CCAC uncovers profit making by a worker of Sports Bureau through claiming back exaggerated expenses of supplies

The CCAC detected a case where a worker of the Sports Bureau allegedly submitted forged receipts to his department in the course of procuring supplies for his department. The worker allegedly claimed back the exaggerated expenses of some supplies purchased from an online shopping platform of the Chinese mainland, and he was also suspected to sell the parts of some scrap air conditioners privately for profit.


Foreign exchange reserves and nominal effective exchange rate index for the pataca – February 2023

The Monetary Authority of Macao announced today that the preliminary estimate of Macao SAR’s foreign exchange reserves amounted to MOP216.9 billion (USD26.84 billion) at the end of February 2023. The reserves increased by 1.7% from the revised value of MOP213.3 billion (USD26.43 billion) for the previous month. Macao SAR’s foreign exchange reserves at end-February 2023 represented 10 times the currency in circulation or 82.1% of pataca M2 at end-January 2023.


MPU research team’s interdisciplinary academic paper published in prestigious international journal

Mu Siqing, Ph.D. student in Portuguese, Li Aoxuan and Shen Lu, Ph.D. students in Computer Applied Technology, Han Lili, Dean of the Faculty of Languages and Translation (FLT), and Professor Wen Zhisheng, have had an interdisciplinary academic paper "Linguistic Repertoires Embodied and Digitalized: A Computer-Vision-Aided Analysis of the Language Portraits by Multilingual Youth" published by the journal Sustainability. The paper has been officially published in a special issue of the journal entitled "Technology-Enhanced Language Teaching and Learning: Innovations, Challenges, and Concerns". The journal's current impact factor is 3.889.
