The Fourth Extraordinary Congress of the Universal Postal Union
The Fourth Extraordinary Congress of the Universal Postal Union (UPU) was held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia from 1st to 5th October 2023. The UPU Strategy Summit 2023 was also organized as part of the congress under the theme: “People, Purpose, Progress – The Next Chapter for the Postal Sector”. The Chinese delegation, leaded by Mr. Zhao Min, Deputy Director of the State Post Bureau, with Mr. Guo Chenglin, Chief Accountant of the China Post Group, Ms. Tai Shuk-yiu, Postmaster General of Hongkong Post and Ms. Lau Wai Meng, Director of the Macau Post and Telecommunications Bureau as deputy heads, represented China and participated at the Fourth Extraordinary Congress.

Residential property price index for June – August 2023
Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that the overall residential property price index for June - August 2023 decreased by 0.9% over the previous period (May - July 2023) to 248.2. The index for the Macao Peninsula (245.5) dropped by 1.3% while that for Taipa & Coloane (258.6) rose by 0.5%.

[Cancellation Notice] Two fireworks shows of the Contest are cancelled tonight (9 October) owing to typhoon
Owing to the typhoon’s impact, the two fireworks shows of the 31stMacao International Fireworks Display Contest, originally postponed to tonight (9 October 2023), are now cancelled. Travel reminder to Israel
Owing to the turbulence in Israel and Palestine, Travel Alert Level 2 to Israel remains in effect, as issued by the Macao SAR Government. Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) urges Macao residents not to visit the regions involved for now. Macao residents who are in the regions are advised to pay attention to the situation and stay extra vigilant to guard their personal safety.
