New positive cases between within 24 hours yesterday (15 July)

According to the Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre, new positive cases within 24 hours yesterday (15 July) include: 18 cases in the Red Code zones and medical observation hotels, which were detected under the management and control; 1 cases of close contacts, 10 cases in the Citywide NAT and Key Groups NAT, and 2 cases among other population groups, which were found within the community.

Domestic helpers who are not staying with their employers will be considered as a key group starting tomorrow (16 July), and will be subject to daily nucleic acid testing

The Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre indicates that, taking into account that domestic helpers not staying with their employers usually live with people of different work types in a crowded living environment, in which an infected housemate can easily spread the virus to other people in the boarding house. Hence, once these domestic helpers are infected, they can also transmit the virus to their employers and their family members who are usually elders and children with lower immunity, the consequences will be serious.

The United Nations Human Rights Committee concluded its consideration of the report of Macao SAR on the implementation of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights
From 13 July to 15 July, the Macao SAR Government’s second report on the implementation of the relevant provisions of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights was considered by the United Nations Human Rights Committee through video conference. The delegation was headed by the Secretary for Administration and Justice, Mr. André Cheong Weng Chon, and joined by representatives of the Office of the Secretary for Security, the Government Information Bureau, the Legal Affairs Bureau, the Labour Affairs Bureau, the Health Bureau and the Social Welfare Bureau.
