Consumer price index (CPI) for August 2022
Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that the Composite CPI for August 2022 (103.77) increased by 1.13% year-on-year. The increment was attributed to higher wages of domestic helpers, dearer charges for eating out and electricity, as well as rising prices of gasoline and fruits; yet, the rise was partially offset by lower rentals for dwellings, falling charges for telecommunication services and reduced prices of pork. Among the various sections of goods and services, price indices of Household Furnishings & Services and Transport grew by 12.35% and 5.94% year-on-year respectively, whereas the index of Communication decreased by 10.18%. The CPI-A (103.46) and CPI-B (104.17) saw respective growth of 0.79% and 1.59% year-on-year.

34th Macao International Music Festival kicks off on Sunday with the symphonic play Peer Gynt
The 34th Macao International Music Festival (MIMF), organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym), will kick off this Sunday (25 September), with an opening ceremony to be held at 7:40pm on the same day in the lobby of the Macao Cultural Centre. An early bird discount of 30% is offered until this Sunday. Limited tickets for some performances are still available and the public is advised to purchase tickets as soon as possible.

The Graduation Ceremony of MPU Seniors Academy Was Successfully Held and 110 Students Graduated
The 2021/2022 graduation ceremony of the MPU Seniors Academy (ACS) was successfully held in early September 2022. A total of 110 students graduated. The graduation ceremony was held online, and during the ceremony student service certificates and outstanding teacher awards were presented. The graduates’ relatives and friends watched the ceremony online and gave their blessings, sharing the joy of the graduates.
