Tour Macao FUN Fair – Nostalgia Carnival unfolds around Rua dos Ervanários Continuously drawing visitors to explore communities for economic revival

Jointly organized by Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) and local community organizations, the series of activities entitled “Tour Macao FUN Fair” has gained much popularity among residents and visitors since it commenced last year. To steer community tourism and economy forward, the Tour Macao FUN Fair rolls out another fascinating activity of the series – the “Nostalgia Carnival” Themed Market in the vicinity of Rua dos Ervanários and Travessa do Armazém Velho from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays between 8 - 30 January 2022.The themed market is expected to lead visitors into the district for exploration and inject another impetus to the community economy.

UM uses AI technology to develop TCM-based drugs for Alzheimer's disease

A team led by Lu Jiahong, associate professor in the Institute of Chinese Medical Sciences (ICMS), University of Macau (UM), has developed an artificial intelligence (AI)-based virtual screening algorithm and a cross-species Alzheimer's disease (AD) drug verification platform, in collaboration with researchers at the University of Oslo in Norway, and Hangzhou Mindrank Technology Co, Ltd. The algorithm and the platform have successfully identified several small-molecule compounds with therapeutic potential against AD. The related research results have been published online by Nature Biomedical Engineering.


Macao advises double-jabbed people aged 18 or above to receive a booster shot of COVID-19 vaccine

The Macao Special Administrative Region (MSAR) health authorities have updated their guideline regarding who is eligible to receive a booster shot of COVID-19 vaccine. All those aged 18 or above who have completed an initial two-dose process involving either Sinopharm’s inactivated vaccine or BioNTech’s mRNA vaccine are now advised to receive a booster shot.


Residential property price index for September – November 2021

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that the overall residential property price index for September - November 2021 decreased by 0.9% over the previous period (August - October 2021) to 266.7. The index for the Macao Peninsula (266.4) fell by 1.2% while that for Taipa & Coloane (268.0) rose by 0.8%.


Limited tickets available for WTT Champions Macao 2021 China Stars presented by Galaxy Entertainment Group

Tickets for the WTT Champions Macao 2021 China Stars presented by Galaxy Entertainment Group, organized by the Sports Bureau of the Macao SAR Government and World Table Tennis (WTT) and co-organized by the Macau Table Tennis General Association, have been in high demand since the start of sales, with all tickets sold out for the dates between 21 and 23 January. Limited tickets are available for the dates of 19 and 20 January at designated Circle K convenience stores while they last.
