Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that licensed motor vehicles in Macao totalled 247,923 as at end-February 2022, up by 1.5% year-on-year; light automobiles (113,260) and heavy motorcycles (106,384) increased by 1.5% and 3.1% respectively. New registration of motor vehicles in February dropped by 21.4% year-on-year to 721 (electric vehicles accounted for 116), with that of light automobiles declining by 31.5% to 298 (electric vehicles accounted for 90). In the first two months of 2022, new registration of motor vehicles decreased by 10.1% year-on-year to 1,973. Number of traffic accidents in February went down by 10.4% year-on-year to 823, with 287 persons injured. In the first two months of 2022, there were 1,922 traffic accidents, which caused 650 injuries.

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that total merchandise export amounted to MOP1.01 billion in February 2022, up by 39.2% year-on-year. Value of re-exports (MOP870 million) grew by 36.8%, with that of Travel goods & handbags and Garments surging by 305.0% and 197.3% respectively. Value of domestic exports (MOP142 million) expanded by 55.9%, with that of Garments and Copper & articles thereof rising by 31.6% and 40.2% respectively. Meanwhile, total merchandise import went up by 38.7% year-on-year to MOP10.56 billion; imports of Beauty, cosmetic & skincare products, Perfumes and Electronic components leapt by 202.7%, 192.7% and 186.6% respectively, whereas imports of Pharmaceutical products and Motor cars & motorcycles declined by 28.2% and 24.2% respectively. Merchandise trade deficit in February 2022 totalled MOP9.54 billion.

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that a total of 119 hotel establishments offered accommodation services to the public in February 2022. Number of available guest rooms increased by 8.1% year-on-year to 39,000. Data on hotel establishments designated for medical observation and self-health monitoring were excluded in the compilation of the results. The average occupancy rate of guest rooms rose by 10.3 percentage points year-on-year to 48.7%, with 3-star hotels leading at 51.2%.

Organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym), the 32^nd Macao Arts Festival (MAF) will be held from 29 April to 2 June. Tickets for the programmes and outreach activities are available at the Macau Ticketing Network from 10am on 3 April (Sunday). In order to comply with the epidemic prevention and control measures and to safeguard public health, ticketing services at the outlets as well as telephone and online booking will be available simultaneously from 10am on the first day of ticket sales. In order to reduce crowd gathering at the ticketing outlets, members of the public are advised to purchase tickets online or by phone. An online reservation system will be set up at the Macau Ticketing Network for the first day of ticket sales. Members of the public who want to purchase tickets at the Macau Ticketing Network outlets from 10am to 1pm on the first day of ticket sales are required to reserve their ticketing slot and their desired outlet through the online reservation system from 10am on 31 March (Thursday).

The 32^nd Macao Arts Festival (MAF) Outreach Programme features 27 outreach programmes, including virtual reality screenings, art performances and food home deliveries, talks, workshops, “Meet-the-Artist” sessions, backstage tours, community tours and screenings of international stage performances, inviting the audience to experience art from multiple perspectives starting mid-April.
