Cultural Affairs Bureau holds creative handicraft workshops at the Tap Siac Craft Market

Organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from its Portuguese acronym), the Tap Siac Craft Market will be held from 21 to 24 April and from 28 April to 1 May at Tap Siac Square. A total of 40 creative handicraft workshops will be held, including 8 sessions for families. Interested parties can register for the workshops through the Tap Siac Craft Market website (www.craftmarket.gov.mo) from today until 4 April, at 5pm. The fee for each handicraft workshop is MOP50.


UM scholars discuss talent development policy and technological innovation in Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin

The University of Macau (UM) Centre for Macau Studies (CMS), the Centre for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Studies of UM’s Faculty of Social Sciences (FSS), and Zhuhai UM Science & Technology Research Institute (ZUMRI), together with the Committee on Liaison with Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan of the Guangdong Provincial Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and the Association of Chong Hang Intellectual Elites, today (29 March) held a seminar titled ‘Talent Development Policy and the Promotion of Technological Innovation in Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin’. During the event, nearly 20 CPPCC Guangdong Provincial Committee members and experts had in-depth discussions on talent development policy and the promotion of technological innovation in Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone (Cooperation Zone) in Hengqin.



Package tours and hotel occupancy rate for February 2022

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that a total of 119 hotel establishments offered accommodation services to the public in February 2022. Number of available guest rooms increased by 8.1% year-on-year to 39,000. Data on hotel establishments designated for medical observation and self-health monitoring were excluded in the compilation of the results. The average occupancy rate of guest rooms rose by 10.3 percentage points year-on-year to 48.7%, with 3-star hotels leading at 51.2%.


Application to Join the 2022 China International Import Expo (CIIE) for Macao Enterprises Available at IPIM Now

With the aim of continuing to help local enterprises to “go global” for more business opportunities, the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) will once again organise Macao enterprises to participate in the 2022 China International Import Expo (CIIE). The application is open until 15 April.


32nd Macao Arts Festival launches online ticketing to facilitate the public Online reservation system available on the first day of ticket sales

Organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym), the 32nd Macao Arts Festival (MAF) will be held from 29 April to 2 June. Tickets for the programmes and outreach activities are available at the Macau Ticketing Network from 10am on 3 April (Sunday). In order to comply with the epidemic prevention and control measures and to safeguard public health, ticketing services at the outlets as well as telephone and online booking will be available simultaneously from 10am on the first day of ticket sales. In order to reduce crowd gathering at the ticketing outlets, members of the public are advised to purchase tickets online or by phone. An online reservation system will be set up at the Macau Ticketing Network for the first day of ticket sales. Members of the public who want to purchase tickets at the Macau Ticketing Network outlets from 10am to 1pm on the first day of ticket sales are required to reserve their ticketing slot and their desired outlet through the online reservation system from 10am on 31 March (Thursday).


32nd Macao Arts Festival Outreach Programme brings together local and international artists Virtual reality technology promotes cultural and artistic experiences

The 32nd Macao Arts Festival (MAF) Outreach Programme features 27 outreach programmes, including virtual reality screenings, art performances and food home deliveries, talks, workshops, “Meet-the-Artist” sessions, backstage tours, community tours and screenings of international stage performances, inviting the audience to experience art from multiple perspectives starting mid-April.


Macao optimising preparations for large-scale community treatment centre

The Government is optimising preparations for a planned large-scale community treatment centre in the event of a serious COVID-19 outbreak in Macao. Once preparation work is completed, the relevant authorities will conduct a drill at the venue.


32nd Macao Arts Festival kicks off in May Invigorates power of the times with art

Organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym), the 32nd Macao Arts Festival (MAF), themed “Invigorate”, will be held from 29 April to 2 June, featuring 18 programmes as well as a series of outreach programme, in a total of over 200 activities, covering theatre, dance, music and visual arts, aiming to invigorate the power of the times with art.
