Launch of citywide nucleic acid test from 12:00 pm today (19 June) to 12:00 pm on 21 June
The Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre (hereinafter referred to as the “Centre”) announces that a citywide nucleic acid test will be conducted from 12:00 pm today (19 June) to 12:00 pm on 21 June. All local residents and individuals staying in Macao, including those who have taken a swab within the 24 hours preceding 12:00 pm today, are required to get tested. Individuals who have recently received a COVID-19 vaccine must wait at least 24 hours from the time of leaving the vaccination venue before they can take the test.

Suspension of the operation of social facilities that provide daytime services and of the visits in nursing homes and rehabilitation areas

The Social Welfare Bureau (IAS) hereby announces that, due to the development of the epidemic in Macao and in order to ensure the safety and health of service users, especially children, the elderly, the disabled and the workers, the operation of subsidized social facilities, namely day care centers, special need daycare centers and community centers, as well as the reception of visitors in nursing homes and rehabilitation areas will be suspended from today. However, nursing homes and urgent care services will remain in operation. Further information regarding the operation of the various social facilities will be announced later, as the epidemic evolves. For more information, citizens can contact their respective offices. The IAS hopes that the population understands the respective measures. The IAS appeals for the cooperation of non-subsidized facilities in order to comply with the epidemic prevention measure.

Health Bureau announces health services arrangement during citywide nucleic acid testing period

The Health Bureau announces that during the citywide nucleic acid testing period from 19th to 21st June, the Accident & Emergency Department (including the Island Emergency Station) and the Inpatient Service will remain functional as normal; from 20th to 21st June, the Day Hospital of the Haemato-Oncology Service, the Haemodialysis Unit and the CHCSJ Pharmacy will also operate as usual; while the specialist outpatient services (including outpatient clinics, radiology, blood sampling and analysis of clinical pathology, endoscopy service of internal medicine, day diagnosis and treatment service of urology, and outpatient rehabilitation services), non-urgent scheduled surgery and peritoneal dialysis service will be suspended from 19th June, and resume normal operation from 22nd June.

The DSEDJ announced that, starting from today, all educational activities of tertiary education institutions and non-tertiary education schools are suspended

As the Macao Special Administrative Regionannounced an immediate state of prevention from 1:00 a.m. on 19 June 2022, the Education and Youth Development Bureau (DSEDJ) announced that all educational activities in higher education institutions and non-tertiary education schools are required to be suspended from 19 June until further notice, so as to tie in with the epidemic prevention and control of the SAR Government. Activities such as tests, examinations and graduation ceremonies are postponed, competitions and exchange activities are cancelled or postponed, and schools are temporarily closed. All students are advised to reduce going out and cross-border students are advised to avoid returning to Macao. In addition, private supplementary education support centres and continuing education institutions are advised to be temporarily closed.

The Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre announced that preliminary positive nucleic acid test result was found in the community of Macao yesterday (18 June) and various control measures have been taken immediately. Residents are advised to pay close attention to official announcements, stay at home, avoid going out as much as possible, and take personal hygiene precautions.
