Macao Museum of Art presents works of Shi Lu conveying the profound and vigorous spirit of China

The exhibition “Bold Spirit: Works of Shi Lu from the Collection of the National Museum of China” will be held from 18 September 2021, on the fourth floor of the Macao Museum of Art. The exhibition is divided into four sections, namely “Revolutionary Epic”, “Praise of the New Era”, “Chang’an New Painting” and “Strength of Character”, featuring over 150 outstanding works by Shi Lu, a renowned painter of the Chang’an Painting School, including ink wash paintings, prints, oil paintings, and calligraphies, supplemented by relevant historical materials, documents and pictures, showing the change and innovation of the theme of his works and the formation of his distinctive style.


MSAR Government strongly opposes references to Macao in EU report

The Macao Special Administrative Region (MSAR) Government expresses strong opposition and grave dismay regarding references to Macao in a text titled “A new EU-China strategy” adopted on Thursday (September 16) by the European Parliament of the European Union (EU).


Business climate survey on restaurants & similar establishments and retail trade for July 2021

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that there were 64% of the interviewed restaurants & similar establishments reporting a year-on-year rise in receipts in July 2021, a growth of 10 percentage points from June; the corresponding proportions of Western Restaurants (62%) and Chinese Restaurants (75%) rose by 15 percentage points and 12 percentage points respectively. Meanwhile, the proportion of interviewed retailers recording a year-on-year sales rise in July (82%) went up by 1 percentage point over the preceding month. All of the interviewed retailers of Leather Goods and Watches, Clocks & Jewellery continued to register a year-on-year sales increase. Besides, the corresponding share of Adults’ Clothing Retailers (90%) grew by 14 percentage points from June, while the share of Motor Vehicle Retailers (30%) dropped by 16 percentage points. For the Business Performance Index (BPI) that reflects the trend of year-on-year changes in business receipts, the values for restaurants & similar establishments (72.0) and retail trade (85.4) were both higher than 50, implying that the business of these two industries in July fared better compared to the same month last year.

The “Performance to Celebrate the 72nd Anniversary of the National Day of the People’s Republic of China” - Contemporary Acrobatic Show “The Butterfly Lovers”, jointly organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Macao SAR Government and the Department of Publicity and Culture of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao SAR, produced by the Publicity Department of Guangzhou Municipal Committee of Chinese Communist Party and the Guangzhou Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Film and Tourism, supported by The Venetian Macao, and performed by the Guangzhou Acrobatic Arts Theater Co., LTD, will be held on October 1st, at 8pm, at Venetian Theatre, allowing the public to enjoy an exquisite acrobatic show while celebrating the National Day. Tickets will be on sale fromSeptember 21st (Tuesday) at the Macau Ticketing Network and Cotai Ticketing.



IPIM Facilitates Project Execution through Improved Investor’s “One-stop Service”

In order to bring in more foreign investments that are conducive to the moderate diversification of Macao’s economic and industrial development, and foster economic recovery, on the foundation of the current service, the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) has improved the Investor’s “One-stop Service” since the third quarter of 2020. IPIM has started organising “prior technical meetings” and reinforcing the interdepartmental co-operation, seeking to reduce the time required for the implementation of investment projects. IPIM has also designated personnel to continuously follow up implemented investment projects to provide support to craft Macao as an ideal place where investors can quickly launch and effectively maintain businesses.
