The DSEDJ announces class resumption on October 4
The Education and Youth Development Bureau (hereinafter referred to as the “DSEDJ”) has paid close attention to epidemic prevention and has maintained close communication with schools to assess local epidemic development. After listening to the opinions of the health department, if there is no major change in the epidemic, all schools of non-tertiary education will resume classes from October 4. All sports and extracurricular activities will be suspended until further notice. Regarding tertiary education, face-to-face teaching is allowed to be resumed from October 4 onwards, according to the situation of tertiary education institutions.

Government cautiously analysing support for SMEs and Macao’s anti-epidemic work

Temporary Shelter Service is available at the Edifício do Bairro da Ilha Verde
Social Welfare Bureau concerns about the temporary shelter needs of the crowd that gathered at the Barrier Gate Plaza (Praça das Portas do Cerco). The “Vui Ieng Service Centre” of the Macao Caritas, located at Rua Leste da Ilha Verde, n.º 34, Edifício do Bairro da Ilha Verde, E1, provides temporary shelter service for those who are in need after registration. The Centre will try the best to provide arrangements if condition is allowed. As there is limited quota, please try to seek support from relatives and friends if possible.

Encourage teachers and students to take COVID-19 vaccines asap for health’s sake
Schools are the main places for learning and cluster activities for students. Taking into account the current dynamic development of the epidemic, and to ensure campus safety and the health of teachers and students, the Education and Youth Development Bureau (the “DSEDJ”) strongly urges school staff and students of tertiary education institutions and teaching staff of non-tertiary education schools to make use of the National Day holidays or the following days to take the vaccines proactively. Currently, there is no need to make appointments to take the vaccines at the vaccination sites. Teaching staff and students can directly go to the vaccination sites in Macao for vaccination. In addition, the DSEDJ, together with the Health Bureau, will continue to carry out collective vaccination work at schools as planned.

IPIM Organises Online Training Session to Help Local Enterprises Improve E-marketing Capabilities
To help expand the market for “Made in Macao”, “Macao Brand” and “Macao Design” products through e-commerce and new retail models, the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) held the “E-marketing Training Session for Enterprises of Macao Ideas” on 28 September and invited industry representatives to share their online marketing skills and knowledge about trademark in Mainland China, attracting over 50 representatives from Macao enterprises to join the session. Participating enterprise representatives commented that the training session was practical and could facilitate their brand to enter the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area market.

Cooperating Households Lucky Draw results of 2021 Population Census announced
Data collection for the 2021 Population Census has been concluded. In appreciation of the households’ cooperation and support, households who completed the Census questionnaire between 7 and 28 August will be automatically entered into the Cooperating Households Lucky Draw.
