Grass skiing ground in Taipa Grande Natural Park reopens after completion of improvement works

To increase the safety and fun of using the grass skiing ground in Taipa Grande Natural Park, the Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) has completed the improvement works of the venue and it is reopened. The public are welcome to bring their children to the venue to play.


“Consumer Online” platform will be unstable during Cloud Centre maintenance

As informed by SAFP, maintenance will be carried out from 17 July (Saturday) midnight to 0500AM for the Cloud Platform on the Cloud Computation Centre, “Consumer Online” e-service platform of the Consumer Council may not be stable during that time, “Macao Price Information Platform” app and the latest in-app game will be temporarily suspended during the mentioned period.


Masterclass Series of Culinary Expertise Demonstration begins

Following the Masterclass Series of Culinary Expertise Demonstration – Suzhou Cuisine Workshop held on 10 June 2021, Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) and Wynn Macau partner up again to roll out ten culinary demonstration sessions as part of the Masterclass Series of Culinary Expertise Demonstration in collaboration with a range of local entities from July to September.


“Art Macao: Macao International Art Biennale 2021” opens navigating a great garden of artistic creativity

“Art Macao: Macao International Art Biennale 2021” was inaugurated today (15 July) at the Macao Museum of Art. On the occasion, the Main Exhibition themed “Advance and Retreat of Globalization” was also inaugurated. A four-month mega international cultural and artistic event, “Art Macao” presents 30 art exhibitions in 25 locations, and gathers artistic and cultural forces from around the world to build the artistic network across the city, showcasing creativity and imagination through the artworks. Macao will once again become a great garden filled of artistic creativity from July to October, where the public can enjoy a movable feast of the city and experience the diverse visual arts.


Submission of Works for the “Collective Exhibition of Macao Artists” ends on 18 July

The “Collective Exhibition of Macao Artists”, organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym), accepts applications until 18 July (Sunday). All interested Macao artists and art lovers are welcome to take this opportunity to submit their works before the deadline.


UM holds six biomedicine lectures for local high school students

To enhance the scientific literacy of Macao students, the University of Macau (UM) Faculty of Health Sciences (FHS) organised six lectures in biomedicine. During the lectures, FHS teaching staff shared fun scientific mysteries with over 250 secondary school students, with the aim of stimulating their interest in science.


IPIM Organises Business-matching Showcase to Help Macao Enterprises Explore Mainland Market

To give enterprises from the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area a better understanding of the “Made in Macao”, “Macao Brand” and “Macao Design” products and services, promote the advantages and characteristics of Macao enterprises, and facilitate business co-operation and exchange between Mainland and Macao enterprises, the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) organised the “Macao Ideas, Join & Match” Business-matching Showcase on 8 July in co-operation with the Zhuhai Municipal Bureau of Commerce and the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Representative Office in Macao. The event attracted the participation of 120 representatives from Mainland and Macao enterprises and a total of 81 business matching sessions were held on site, covering areas of trade, food processing, retail and wholesale, e-commerce, branding and packaging, and business consultancy.


Beware of fraudulent (phishing) emails sent in the name of CTT Macao for collecting postal objects

Recently, some citizens reported that they have received emails sent in the name of Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau (CTT), soliciting the recipient to refer to the email attachment and click the embedded link in order to collect the postal object within the designated time frame. We have to clarify that CTT did not send the email concerned and remind the public should be cautious. Any person receiving the email concerned should stay vigilant and pay attention to this type of email as well as verify the source from relevant organization by using the proper channel. The public is advised not to believe the contents of the fraudulent email, never click on the link, not to provide personal information and beware of being deceived.

Macao Polytechnic Institute “The 2nd International Conference on ‘Encounter with the Human Sciences’ & The 4th LinCog – International Symposium on Language and Cognition” Calling for Paper Submissions Now

With the goals of promoting interdisciplinary research in the related fields of cognition and language, and constructing a collaborative platform for academic exchanges in the human sciences between Macao and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, mainland China and Portuguese-speaking countries, and the world beyond, the School of Languages and Translation of the Macao Polytechnic Institute (ESLT-MPI) and the University of São Paulo (USP) in Brazil, will jointly organize the “The 2nd International Conference on ‘Encounters with the Human Sciences’ & the 4th LinCog International Symposium on Language and Cognition”. The conference is to be held in partnership with the Federal University of Fluminense (UFF), the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco (UFRPE) and the Federal Institute of São Paulo (IFSP). It will take place online (via Zoom) from November 29th to December 1st, 2021. The theme is “Cross-border and interdisciplinary dialogue between cognition, language, culture and translation”. The conference features seven thematic symposiums on the sub-themes of “Cognition, Language Acquisition and Language Teaching”; “Cognition, Culture and Literature”, “Cognition and Translation”, “Cognition and Interpretation”, “Cognition and Computer-Aided Translation and Machine Translation”, “Cognition, Pragmatics and Superdiversity”, and “Cognition, Grammar and Discourse”. Scholars at home and abroad are cordially invited to contribute papers in related fields and to participate in the exciting conference.
