Notification of Change of Address

How to Apply

Time of application

According to Article 27 of Administrative Regulation No. 5/2003, persons granted “Residence Authorization” are required to notify the Residence and Stay Affairs Department of any change of address within 30 days from the date of change. Failure to do so will incur a penalty.

Application procedures and documents required

  1. Application Approach: To notify the Residence and Stay Affairs Department of the change of address in person, by a legal representative or by post.
  2. Documents Must be Presented
    1. Unless otherwise noted, the original should be exhibited for authentication if a copy is submitted;
    2. The copy should be authenticated if the original cannot be exhibited.
  3. Necessary Documents
    1. Notifying in person or by post:
      > Notification of Change of Address signed by the interested person;
      > Document indicating the new address (e.g.: copy of water bill, electricity bill, phone bill, etc. of the last 3 months);
      > Copy of interested person’s Macao Resident Identity Card.
    2.  Submitting documents by third party:
      > Documents listed in Point 3.1;
      > Copy of third party’s identification document.
    3. Notifying by legal representative:
      > Documents listed in Point 3.1 (Notification of Change of Address to be signed by the representative);
      > A certified letter of authorization;
      > Copy of representative’s identification document.

Apply in person: Public Security Police Force – Residence Subdivision of the Residence and Stay Affairs Department

Address: Immigration Building of the Public Security Police Force, Travessa Um do Cais de Pac On, Taipa, Macao

Office Hours: Mon to Thu, 9:00 – 17:45
Fri, 9:00 – 17:30
(Closed on Sat, Sun and Macao government holidays)

Free of charge

Processing Time (excluding time of waiting in a queue and postage time for documents sent by mail)

  1. Notifying in person: within the same day.
  2. Notifying by post: the day the Subdivision receives the letter.

Remark / Requirements

Penalty for unreported change of address: Persons who fail to notify the change of address as stipulated in Article 27 of Administrative Regulation No. 5/2003 will be fined MOP1000 according to Article 33 of the Regulation. Recidivists will be fined double the amount.
