The exhibition "Macao Contemporary Posters" opened on 12 June at The Asia Pacific Museum in Warsaw, in a joint organization by the Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Macao SAR Government (IC) and the Poster Museum at Wilanów – a Division of the National Museum in Warsaw – with the support of The Asia and Pacific Museum in Warsaw, the hosting venue. The opening ceremony was presided over by the Director of the Poster Museum at Wilanów, Mariusz Knorowski, the Director of The Asia and Pacific Museum in Warsaw, Dr. Joanna Wasilewska, the Chief of the Cultural Events Department of IC, Kent Ieong Chi Kin, the former Consul General of the Republic of Poland in Hong Kong and Macao. Mr. Przemyslaw M. Jenke, and Mr. Andrej Wawrzyniak, founder of The Asia and Pacific Museum in Warsaw. The exhibition, coordinated by IC, presents the Polish public 58 posters by 23 excellent Macao designers. The "Macao Contemporary Posters" exhibition is part of the 24th International Poster Biennale in Warsaw, the first artistic posters exhibition and one of the five major poster exhibitions in the world, considered to be the most representative event in the graphic design professional circles. Macao designers featured in this exhibition include: Gisela Viegas, Chu Wai Hang, Ho Sze Leong, Chao Sio Leong, Hong Ka Lok, Hong Chong Ip, Vai Chi Hang, Victor Hugo Marreiros, Cheong Kuok Wai, Leong Chi Hang, Hoi Wai Ip, Hoi Sok Cheng, Chan Hou Seng, Chang Lap Ian, Wong Wang Chi, Vong Vai Meng, Chao Chi Chun, Lao Chon Hong, Lao Wa Chi, Au Chon Hin, Cheang Si Weng, Lai Hou Iok, and Lo Ka Chon. These accomplished designers have won awards in several local and international design competitions. With the rich and diverse presentation by local designers in this exhibition, the organizer hopes to introduce Macao's graphic design peculiar traits to an international audience, while illustrating the evolution of Macao poster design and also promoting exchanges between professionals in and outside Macao. The "Macao Contemporary Posters" exhibition will be on show until July 27 from 12:00 to 6 pm, except on Mondays, at The Asia and Pacific Museum in Warsaw, located at Solec 24, Warsaw, Republic of Poland.
