Hosted by the Macao SAR Government, co-ordinated by Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) and Environmental Council of Macao, with the National Development and Reform Commission of the People's Republic of China and the Ministry of Environmental Protection of the People’s Republic of China as the Special Supporting Organization, the Macao green event ‘2009 Macao International Environmental Co-operation Forum & Exhibition’ (2009 MIECF), will be held on 2 – 4 April at the Venetian® Macao-Resort-Hotel. With one of thematic tracks "Green Business Co-operation and Finance", it is anticipated that SMEs can actively take part in 2009 MIECF and utilize the opportunities to establish ties and exploit co-operation with overseas environmental delegates during this “Global Green Gathering”. One of the ways is through exhibition, while IPIM is introducing the “SME Exhibition Incentive Scheme” for Macao SMEs (environmental related enterprises have priority). 2000 Patacas for Exhibit Space
Eligible enterprises are entitled to join the exhibition at MOP 2000 for a 9m2 standard exhibit space. Simultaneously, IPIM provides financial incentives for booth decoration, printed and audio-visual materials to exhibitors. Applications will be processed on a first-come-first-served basis. With the theme “A Global Green Gathering Environment-Business-Connection”, with the objective of promoting Macao as a co-operation platform for China and international (particularly European) environmental industry, 2009 MIECF organizers have enriched the event with the serial Green Forum, Green Showcase, Green Matching and a Green business exchange activities. Like the debut 2008 MIECF, the exhibition will comprise of various themed exhibition areas/pavilions including Macao Pavilian, Pan-PRD Provinces/Regions Pavilion, EU Pavilion, etc. The three-day Green Showcase will feature an exhibition area of over 8,000 square metres showcasing around 180 exhibitors. Internationally renowned cross-national enterprises from France, Germany, England, Finland and Portugal will have their environmental state-of the-art and techniques displayed in multiple themed pavilions, while provinces and cities of Mainland China, the United States, Canada and Brazil, etc, will also join in the exhibition. Under the threat of the global financial crisis and economic downturn, 2009 MIECF organizers have reinforced its effort to support all participating organizations, exhibitors, and business matching sessions, especially with the “SME Exhibition Incentive Scheme” for local SMEs to foster co-operation between local enterprises and overseas environmental industry, with the aim to foster co-operation and create mutual business opportunities, thus overcoming challenges posed by the economic conditions. The first two days of 2009 MIECF are open for registration of professional visitors and it will be open to the public on 4 April.
