Estatísticas do Comércio Externo de Mercadorias referentes a Janeiro de 2013


Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that total merchandise export for January 2013 amounted to MOP1.01 billion, up by 62% year-on-year; value of re-exports (MOP826 million) increased by 98%, but that of domestic exports (MOP181 million) decreased by 11%. Total merchandise import reached to MOP7.22 billion, up by 31% year-on-year. Merchandise trade deficit amounted to MOP6.22 billion for January 2013. Merchandise export to Hong Kong (MOP662 million), Mainland China (MOP122 million) and the EU (MOP34 million) in January 2013 increased by 119%, 55% and 1% respectively year-on-year, while export to the USA (MOP43 million) decreased by 9%. Exports of Non-textiles (MOP905 million) in January 2013 expanded by 76% year-on-year, of which exports of Diamond & diamond jewellery (MOP180 million) and Clocks & watches (MOP104 million) surged by 190% and 144% respectively; meanwhile, exports of Textiles & garments (MOP101 million) decreased by 3%, of which exports of Non-knitted or non-crocheted garments (MOP50 million) grew by 6%, but that of Knitted or crocheted garments (MOP42 million) declined by 20%. In January 2013, merchandise import originated in Mainland China (MOP2.44 billion) and the EU (MOP1.82 billion) increased by 45% and 28% respectively year-on-year. Imports of Consumer goods rose by 30% to MOP4.54 billion, with imports of Food & beverages (MOP1.02 billion), Gold jewellery (MOP704 million), Watches (MOP444 million) and Motor cars & motorcycles (MOP318 million) increasing by 26%, 62%, 23% and 73% respectively. Moreover, imports of Capital goods (MOP1.25 billion) registered a year-on-year increase of 27%, with imports of Mobile phones (MOP568 million) rising by 5%. External merchandise trade reached MOP8.23 billion in January 2013, up by 34% compared with MOP6.14 billion a year earlier.
