The Secretary for Security, Mr Wong Sio Chak, today stated that social order in Macao is stable overall. Incidences recorded in 2024 of respectively serious violent crime, drug-related crime, gambling-related crime, theft, robbery, and crimes that affected people’s livelihoods, were still significantly lower compared to 2019.

UM students’ graduation project tells stories of Macao
Fourth-year students from the Department of Communication of the Faculty of Social Sciences (FSS) at the University of Macau (UM) have published their graduation project, UM Bridges Fall 2024—Citopia. The publication features more than a dozen stories of people rooted in Macao, reflecting the students’ in-depth observations and reflections on Macao’s culture and social issues. To promote the publication, the students set up a booth at a community event, which attracted considerable attention.

MGTO’s new seminar further familiarizes tourism personnel with Muslim customers
Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) organized the “Enhancing the Awareness of the Tourism Industry About Muslim Customers Seminar” today (27 February) to help tourism-related personnel grow their knowledge and skills of attending to Muslim customers, besides promoting Halal certification and cultivation of Muslim-friendly tourism environment. The seminar was held as part of the endeavor to diversify visitations and expand international markets, which will in turn deepen Macao’s development as a world centre of tourism and leisure in line with the development plan for economic diversification.
