Committee for the Development of Conventions and Exhibitions Holds the First Ordinary Plenary Meeting in 2025

The Committee for the Development of Conventions and Exhibitions convened the first ordinary plenary meeting in 2025 on 1st September, which was chaired by Mr. Tai Kin Ip, Secretary for Economy and Finance and Chairman of the Committee. During the meeting, Macao Commerce and Investment Promotion Institute (“IPIM”) presented an overview of the MICE industry for the first half of the year and outlined plans for key areas for the second half of the year. Many Committee members proposed suggestions on topics including the five-year development plan, synergy between the industry and community business districts, and Macao-Hengqin co-operation.


Two mock-up polling stations to be available from 6 to 12 September

The Electoral Affairs Commission for the Legislative Assembly Election is to make available two mock-up polling stations, at Tap Seac Pavilion and the Macao Forum building. They will be open to the public between 9am and 6pm during the period 6 to 12 September.


UM associate professor elected fellow of American Psychological Association

Xu Hui, associate professor in the Department of Psychology in the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Macau (UM), has been elected a fellow of the American Psychological Association (APA). He is the first and only Chinese psychologist to be recognised as a fellow in APA Division 17 (Society of Counseling Psychology). This accolade also reflects international recognition of his academic achievements and contributions to the field.

Macao hosts live-streaming sessions of grand commemorative meeting to mark 80th anniversary of victory against Japanese aggression, fascism

The Macao Special Administrative Region (MSAR) Government today organised live-streaming sessions so that Macao people from all walks of life could watch the grand commemorative meeting at Tiananmen Square in Beijing, marking the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War.



UM hosts World Universities Public Speaking Invitational Championship, bringing together top talent from 11 leading universities worldwide

The University of Macau (UM) hosted the World Universities Public Speaking Invitational Championship 2025. The contest brought together students from 11 prestigious universities worldwide to showcase their exceptional English public speaking skills and promote cross-cultural exchange. After being assessed by an international panel of judges, Kamal Ashraf Bin Kamil Jumat from the National University of Singapore won the championship. The 1st and 2nd runners-up were Sofia Lopez Castillo from the University of British Columbia and Benjamin Thomas from Stanford University respectively.


To celebrate the National Day and the Moon Festival, the new acrobatic show “Swan” makes a dazzling debut in the cultural night

In order to celebrate the National Day and the Moon Festival with the public, the “Commemorative Performance of the 76th Anniversary of the National Day of the People’s Republic of China and the Haojiang Moonlight Night - New Acrobatic Show Swan” will be held on 30 September and 1 October 2025, at 8pm, at The Venetian Theatre. Tickets will go on sale for the public from 4 September.


Registration for Macao Museum of Art’s workshops “Art Without Boundaries” inspiring the creativity of children through the exploration of ancient and modern art

The Macao Museum of Art (MAM), under the auspices of the Cultural Affairs Bureau, will organize the “Art Without Boundaries - Children’s Workshop Series” from October to December, featuring seven art workshops designed for children and youth aged 4 to 16, inspiring them to observe, imagine and have creative practice by getting close to MAM’s artistic creations and cultural relics, thus allowing them to experience the infinite possibilities of art. Interested parties can register through the “Activity Applications” of the Macao One Account from 2 September until 21 September.


Macao shares experience as Creative City of Gastronomy at international conference in Thailand

Macao was among the UNESCO Creative Cities of Gastronomy invited to attend an international gastronomy conference held in Songkhla, Thailand, from 29 to 31 August, to share the experience as a creative city and showcase its unique gastronomic culture at the event, exhibiting the destination’s profile as a world centre of tourism and leisure.
