Subsidized nursery facilities, non-residential and non-emergency social facilities are suspended until the 3rd of October

In light of recent updates caused by the new type of coronavirus and to ensure the safety and health of all service users - especially children and the elderly - and staff members, the Social Welfare Bureau (IAS) announces that the operation of subsidized nursery facilites, non-residential and non-emergency social facilities in Macao will be suspended until the 3rd of October. However, residential homes and emergency support services will remain open during this period. It is also recommended that all non-subsidized facilities cooperate and follow the above-mentioned epidemic prevention measures.

Beware of fraudsters impersonating nucleic acid testing personnel

The Judiciary Police received a report from a resident yesterday (25th), who reportedly had received an unsolicited phone call with a call prefix “+853” from someone claiming to be a COVID-19 nucleic acid testing staff member. The caller pointed out the insufficient test registration data of the victim and asked for personal identity information. The victim thought the telephone number was suspicious, suspecting that the caller impersonated government quarantine personnel to commit fraud, therefore refused to provide the information and immediately hanged up.
