Four categories of people added to Macao’s nucleic acid testing scheme

The scope of Macao’s standard scheme enabling human nucleic acid testing regarding COVID-19 infection has been extended – since Monday (25 May) – to Macao residents aged either 65 or above, and those aged either 18 or under.


UM Master of Science in Accounting programme receives maximum exam exemptions from ACCA

The Master of Science in Accounting programme, offered by the Department of Accounting and Information Management, Faculty of Business Administration (FBA), University of Macau (UM), has been fully accredited by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) in the recent re-accreditation. Students enrolled in the programme are entitled to a maximum of nine exam exemptions with the ACCA. This accreditation makes FBA's Master of Science in Accounting programme one of the programmes in the Greater Bay Area to receive the maximum number of exam exemptions from the ACCA.


Results of retail sales survey for the 1st quarter of 2020

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that value of retail sales for the first quarter of 2020 fell by 45.1% year-on-year to MOP11.24 billion amid the epidemic, and the sales volume index dropped by 44.8%.


Schools’ Overall Operation after Class Resumption for P4 to P6 Is Smooth

Around 16,000 Primary 4 to 6 students from 59 schools in Macao returned to school to resume classes on 25th May. The related schools had followed the Guidelines for Class Resumption issued by the Education and Youth Affairs Bureau (hereinafter referred to as the “DSEJ”) to disinfect the school campus and strengthen their hygiene measures, as well as conduct a drill on class resumption. All school staff and cross-border students had passed their nucleic acid tests as well.


ICCA Report: Macao Ranks Top 50 among International Convention Cities

According to the “International Meetings Market 2019 Report” recently published by the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA), Macao has climbed up multiple ranks. Macao has moved up 23 places to the 48th among cities worldwide. In terms of Asia Pacific cities, Macao ranks the 12th, five places up compared to 2018. ICCA has also recognised 54 international conferences held in Macao, a year-over-year increase of 38%, which reflects that the city has considerable advantages and is apparently appealing in the international convention market.


MPI “Basic Law Online Lecture” Helps Citizens understand law

The “Basic Law Online Lecture” launched by the Macao Polytechnic Institute on May 12, 14, 19 and 21 has been successfully held. This online lecture was lectured by Professor Xu Chang, Associate Professor Li Yanping, and Lecturer Che Sei Tak of the “One Country, Two Systems” Research Centre of the MPI. The lecture aims to let Macao residents, college teachers and students to get better understanding of the Macao Basic Law.


IFTM awarded ISO business continuity management system certificate

The operations of IFTM have been certified under the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 22301 Business Continuity Management System standard. ISO 22301 certification is another demonstration of the Institute’s commitment to developing sustainably by following appropriate policies and procedures.



“HUSH!! X Creative Industries Flea Market” calls for proposals from stall operators

Organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym) and co-organized by the Municipal Affairs Bureau, the concert “HUSH!! Full Music” will be held in a new way at new locations from June to August. Eight music performances will be carried out online and at the Macao Contemporary Art Centre – Navy Yard No.2, Macao Science Center Square, rooftop of Ponte 9 and Senado Square, respectively. One of the activities, “HUSH!! X Creative Industries Flea Market” will be held on 18 and 19 July at the Macao Science Center Square. IC is now calling for proposals from stall operators. All interested parties are welcome to submit their proposals.


Macao firmly supports central authorities’ decision on safeguarding national security
