CCAC completed investigation into corruption case involving IPIM officials
The CCAC has completed the investigation into the criminal case involving the former President of the Board of Directors and a former member of the Executive Committee of the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM), together with a former chief of the IPIM’s Residency Application and Legal Affairs Division, who allegedly committed crimes such as passive corruption to perform illicit acts, document forgery, breach of secrecy and power abuse, etc. in the process of vetting and approving the applications for “major investment immigration” and “technical immigration”. The investigation has been completed and the case has been transferred to the judicial agency. Based on the suggestion of the Public Prosecutions Office, the judge of the Court of Criminal Instruction approved that the former President of the Board of Directors of the IPIM would be remanded in custody.

“2nd China and Portuguese-speaking Countries Film Festival” inaugurated featuring a variety of classic and contemporary films
The “2nd China and Portuguese-speaking Countries Film Festival”, featured in the “2nd Encounter in Macao – Arts and Cultural Festival between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries” organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau, was inaugurated on 4 July with an opening ceremony and a screening of the Chinese classic film Spring in a Small Town at the Macao Cultural Centre. A post-screening talk was held in a lively and enthusiastic atmosphere.

Macao International Book Fair 2019 inaugurated A grand gathering of literature and gastronomy
The Macao International Book Fair 2019, featured in the 2nd Encounter in Macao—Arts and Cultural Festival between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries, and jointly organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau of Macao S.A.R. Government and the China National Publications Import & Export (Group) Corporation, was inaugurated on 4 July, at 10:30am, at the Exhibition Hall A of The Venetian Macao Resort Hotel. The opening ceremony was held in a lively atmosphere and was officiated by the Deputy Director of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Macao SAR, Xue Xiaofeng; the Representative of the Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture of the Macao SAR Government and the President of the Cultural Affairs Bureau, Mok Ian Ian; the President of the China Publishing Group Corporation, Tan Yue; the Consul-General of Portugal in Macao, Paulo Cunha Alves; the Secretary-General of the Permanent Secretariat of Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macao), Xu Yingzhen; the President of the Administrative Committee of the Macao Foundation, Wu Zhiliang; the Deputy Director of the Policy Research Department of the Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China in the Macao SAR, Jiang Xiaofan; the Vice President of the Institute for Tourism Studies of Macao, Florence Ian and the Head of Licensing and Inspection Department of the Macao Government Tourism Office of the Macao SAR Government, Chan Lou.

Consumer Council released 1st supermarket price survey report of the current month
The Consumer Council conducted its ‘Supermarket price survey’ of the first-half of July on 4 July for the implementation of Section 2b), Article 10, Law 4/95/M of 12 June. Surveyed locations included 14 supermarkets in Nossa Senhora de Fátima Parish. Consumers may now check the report data on the Council’s website (www.consumer.gov.mo), the “Supermarket Price Information Platform” app, or the Council’s WeChat account.

“Art Macao”, a six-month mega arts festival, presents a total of 41 events held at 48 locations, offering a new cultural tourism experience that breaks through the concept of space. A number of large-scale outdoor art installations by local and foreign artists, exhibitions organized by foreign consulates accredited in Hong Kong and Macao and hotels and integrated resorts, turns local landmarks into photography hotspots, bringing an artistic summer.
