The First Batch to Withdraw the 2024 Fund Allocation of the Central Provident Fund, Money was Credited to Accounts Today

The first batch of people approved to withdraw the Special Allocation from Budget Surplus 2024 of the Non-Mandatory Central Provident Fund System will receive the relevant funds starting today (25 September), and there are more than 82,000 people in total.


Ilha Verde Library closes on 30 September Bairro da Ilha Verde Library opens on the same day

In order to optimise the reading resources of the community and contribute to the development of Macao as a “City of Reading”, the Bairro da Ilha Verde Library, under the auspices of the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC), will be officially open on 30 September, replacing the Ilha Verde Library located at No. 281, Avenida da Concórdia, Edifício “May Fair Garden” II Fase, 4 andar, Macao.


Celebrated pianists perform at the 36th Macao International Music Festival Additional tickets for the concert Mariza and the Macao Chinese Orchestra

Organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym), the 36th Macao International Music Festival (MIMF), themed “And the Stars Shine”, will be held from 4 October to 4 November, presenting a star-studded musical feast with timeless melodies to music aficionados. In particular, two internationally renowned pianists, Ivo Pogorelich and Hélène Grimaud, will present soul-stirring piano performances at this edition of the Festival. As the concert Mariza and the Macao Chinese Orchestra was highly sought after, tickets were sold out quickly. Additional tickets will be on sale from 10am on 26 September through the Macau Ticketing Network. The public is advised to purchase tickets as soon as possible.



IAM and Gongbei Customs District sign three agreements to strengthen cooperation on food, animal and plant quarantine

With the support of the General Administration of Customs of the People’s Republic of China, the Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) and the Gongbei Customs District have further strengthened their cooperation in inspection and quarantine of food, animal and plant products. On 23 September, José Tavares, Chairman of Administration Committee on Municipal Affairs of IAM, and Zhan Shaotong, Director General of the Gongbei Customs District, signed three cooperation agreements related to inspection and quarantine technologies, pest investigation and monitoring research for fruit inspection, and the implementation of pilot scheme of paperless phytosanitary certificates to further strengthen scientific research cooperation and mutual technical support, quarantine standard enhancement in the related fields, and to continue to give full play to the advantages of “One country, Two systems” for ensuring the safety and quality of the food products of the Mainland and Macao, jointly building a strong bio-ecological security barrier in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and supporting the development of the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin.

CE and Governor of People's Bank of China discuss financial cooperation

The Chief Executive, Mr Ho Iat Seng, met today in Macao with the Governor of the People's Bank of China, Mr Pan Gongsheng. They exchanged views on issues of mutual interest, such as financial cooperation between the mainland and Macao.


CE: Macao committed to serving as financial platform between China and the Portuguese-speaking countries

The Chief Executive, Mr Ho Iat Seng, today highlighted that the Macao Special Administrative Region (MSAR) Government’s effort over the years to build Macao into a financial platform serving between China and the Portuguese-speaking countries (PSCs), while bolstering the city’s overall bridging role and services in connecting these countries.
