[Expanding 1+4 MICE Talent Pool] Five MICE Training Sessions Organised by IPIM in the First Quarter Attracted over 240 Participants

Talent is one of the key factors for any industry to maintain competitiveness and sustainable development. In order to foster the professional and international development of Macao MICE industry, the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) continues to hold training courses on the MICE market expansion, operational skills, industry accreditation and expertise to expand the MICE talent pool by cultivating new practitioners. In the first quarter of 2024, IPIM organised and co-ordinated five (5) MICE training courses, attracting over 240 participants to participate online and offline, including local and mainland MICE practitioners and people interested in launching into the industry.

The Opening Reception of the 135th China Import and Export Fair was held Guangzhou on 14 April. President of Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) Vincent U attended the event and exchanged opinions on fostering trade co-operation between the mainland, Hong Kong and Macao, and how to contribute to the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, with Director of China Foreign Trade Centre Chu Shijia, Head of Department of Foreign Trade under the Ministry of Commerce Li Xingqian, Director-General of Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province Zhang Jinsong, Secretary-General of the People’s Government of Guangzhou Municipality Hong Qian, as well as the representatives of Hong Kong’s and Macao’s industrial and commercial sectors.


Departments Jointly Organized Explanatory Sessions to Promote the Service to Report New Hires and Employment Termination on “Business & Associations Platform”

The Social Security Fund (abbreviated to FSS in Macao) and Financial Services Bureau (abbreviated to DSF in Macao) jointly organized a number of explanatory sessions with the Public Administration and Civil Service Bureau(abbreviated to SAFP in Macao) in March to introduce the "Business & Associations Platform – Report New Hires and Employment Termination" Service to employers from different sectors, letting them understand how to complete the reporting of new hires and employment termination for DSF’s Salaries Tax and FSS’s Obligatory System Contributions at the same time through the "Business & Associations Platform", thus encouraging more employers to use the electronic services of SAR Government.

The ITTF Men's and Women's World Cup Macao 2024 presented by Galaxy Entertainment Group, sanctioned by the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF), organized by the Sports Bureau, Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG) and World Table Tennis Management Group Limited (WTMG), and co-organized by the Macau Table Tennis General Association, kicked off today at Galaxy Arena.

[Expand Business Opportunities Together] Supporting Activity of 6th Ministerial Conference of the Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macao) – “Conference of Entrepreneurs” to be Held on 23 April

With the 6th Ministerial Conference of the Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macao) soon to be held in Macao, one of the supporting activities, the Conference of Entrepreneurs, will take place on 23 April at the Complex of Commerce and Trade Co-operation Platform for China and Portuguese-speaking Countries. The event will bring together senior government officials from mainland China, nine Portuguese-speaking countries, Hong Kong and Macao SAR, as well as leaders and representatives of trade promotion organisations, major commercial associations and key enterprises, with the aim of promoting co-operation in digital and ecological transformation of the respective parties. The conference will also invite key entities and business leaders in the areas of technology, big health, commercial and trade investment, finance, construction, environment and new energies to deliver speeches and hold discussions. During the conference, business matching and exchanges will be organised for enterprises in the “1+4” industries from different regions to explore business opportunities, as well as to bring opportunities for promoting the development of an appropriate economic diversification in Macao.


UM holds Language and Culture Day

The Faculty of Arts and Humanities (FAH) of the University of Macau (UM) held the Fifth UM Language and Culture Day. Themed ‘Cherish Mother Tongues, Embrace All Cultures’, the event aimed to help students improve their language skills and to promote intercultural communication. UM students and faculty members of different nationalities showcased UM’s cultural diversity through captivating cultural performances and activities. More than 200 UM students and faculty members participated in the event, building a bridge for intercultural communication.


Macao Polytechnic University Organises “Love This Planet” Environmental Campaign to Promote Sustainable Development

To continue strengthening environmental awareness among university students, staff and youths, as well as promoting the concept of sustainable development and zero carbon lifestyle to the society, the Student Affairs Office of Macao Polytechnic University organised the “Love This Planet” Environmental Campaign. The event featured popular science exhibitions, booth games, art creations, interactive Q&A sessions, and other engaging immersive learning experiences to enrich the public’s knowledge of environmental protection. Various parties joined forces to actively participate in environmental conservation and put effort into sustainable development.



CE to attend Legislative Assembly session tomorrow

The Chief Executive, Mr Ho Iat Seng, will attend a plenary session of the Legislative Assembly tomorrow, to answer Legislative Assembly members’ questions on Government policy and social issues.
