IFTM holds forum on latest tourism research in Greater Bay Area, links cooperation deal with China Tourism Academy
The Macao Institute for Tourism Studies (IFTM) hosted on Friday (5 November) the 4th Greater Bay Area Tourism Research Alliance Forum. The event, with the main theme as “Effective Governance & Coordination for Post-COVID Greater Bay Area Tourism”, brought together scholars, government officials and professionals from the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and further afield, to discuss the latest tourism research covering the city cluster.

GBA Global Conference 2021 Held in Shanghai Joint Development for Greater Opportunities
The “GBA Global Conference 2021 – Seize the Opportunities Brought about by the Qianhai and Hengqin Plans” was held successfully on 8 November on online and offline channels. The event sought to support the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and leverage the synergy of the departments of commerce in the three regions in terms of attracting investments and promoting the area, while expanding the channels for introducing investments. Nearly 120 government officials and enterprises’ representatives attended the conference.

Residential property price index for July – September 2021
Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that the overall residential property price index for July - September 2021 decreased by 0.1% over the previous period (June - August 2021) to 269.3. The index for the Macao Peninsula (270.5) fell by 0.1% while that for Taipa & Coloane (264.6) rose by 0.2%.

Organized by Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) and coordinated by Macau Live Streaming Association, the “Incubation Plan for Macao’s KOL in Tourism” (referred to as the “Plan”) designated ten trainees as the “Outstanding Content Creators on Tourism”. Company statistics for the 3rd quarter of 2021
Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that a total of 1,394 new companies were incorporated in the third quarter of 2021, a decrease of 326 year-on-year. Newly incorporated companies operating in Wholesale & Retail Trade and Business Services totalled 501 and 375 respectively. Total value of registered capital of the new companies soared by 253.1% year-on-year to MOP370 million, attributable to the incorporation of new companies with relatively large capital in Wholesale & Retail Trade and Financial Services during the quarter. Companies in dissolution totalled 180 in the third quarter, and the value of registered capital of these companies amounted to MOP123 million.
