Organized by the Macao Museum of Art (MAM) under the auspices of the Cultural Affairs Bureau, and co-organized by the Architects Association of Macau, the “Connectivities: Living beyond the boundaries – Macao and the Greater Bay Area, the 17^th International Architecture Exhibition, La Biennale di Venezia – Works of the Collateral Event of Macao, China”, was inaugurated on 18 June (Friday), at 6:30pm, at the Taipa Houses. The opening ceremony was officiated by the President of the Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Macao SAR Government, Mok Ian Ian; the Deputy Director of the Department of Publicity and Culture of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Macao S.A.R., Yin Rutao; the President of the Architects Association of Macau, Leong Chong In; and the curator of the exhibition, Carlos Marreiros.

The Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym) is accepting applications for the “9^th Subsidy Programme for Fashion Design on Sample Making” from today until 26 August. A maximum of eight candidates (groups) will be selected after the initial review and second review and each selected candidate (group) will be granted a subsidy of up to MOP170,000 for sample production and promotional materials.

In order to promote the Chinese traditional culture, and encourage students to develop diverse interests, the Student Affairs Office of the Macao Polytechnic Institute (MPI) has been organising activities to enhance students’ Chinese traditional culture experience, such as experiencing the Chinese Lion Dance and Chinese Tea Art. These activities, one being dynamic and one being quiet, have enabled students to understand the long history of Chinese culture.

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that visitor arrivals to Macao totalled 866,063 in May 2021, an increase of 9.0% month-to-month and an upsurge of 5,268.3% year-on-year. Overnight visitors and same-day visitors added up to 473,808 and 392,255 respectively. The average length of stay of visitors shortened by 3.7 days year-on-year to 1.6 days, with that of overnight visitors (2.9 days) and same-day visitors (0.1 day) dropping by 11.8 days and 0.1 day respectively.
