MICE statistics for the 2nd quarter of 2021

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that a total of 147 MICE events were held in the second quarter of 2021, an increase of 79 quarter-to-quarter; number of participants & attendees surged by 130.6% to 318,000. Moreover, the figures for MICE events and participants & attendees showed notable year-on-year rise of 106 and 1,376.7% respectively, attributable to the relatively low base of comparison in the same quarter of 2020 as number of MICE events decreased sharply at the onset of the pandemic of novel coronavirus pneumonia.

Two Lucky Draws for Households who Complete Census

The 2021 Population Census has entered the final stage of data collection. To encourage response and as an appreciation for the participation of households, the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) is holding two lucky draws at the end of August and September respectively.


Temporary suspension of Identification Services Bureau self-service station at Seac Pai Van in Coloane this Friday

The Identification Services Bureau (DSI) will conduct maintenance at the self-service station at Seac Pai Van in Coloane (located at Avenida da Harmonia, Edifício Ip Heng, Block Ⅲ, R/C – F, Coloane) on 27th August 2021 (Friday) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and all self-services will be suspended at that time. Residents in that district who need to use self-services can proceed to the 6th Floor of Seac Pai Van Community Complex at Avenida de Vale das Borboletas. DSI are sorry for any inconvenience caused.


Release of Macao SAR Balance of Payments (Preliminary Estimate for 2020)

The Monetary Authority of Macao (AMCM) releases today the preliminary balance of payments (BOP) statistics of Macao SAR for the reference year 2020. The BOP, which comprises the current account, the capital account and the financial account, is a statistical statement that summarises the external transactions of an economy with the rest of the world.


MGTO continues to promote the destination and welcome Mainland visitors to Macao

The Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre announced on 23 August that effective from 0:00 on 25 August, individuals intending to cross the border between Macao and Guangdong Province must present valid proof of their negative result of a COVID-19 nucleic acid test issued within an extended span of seven days. Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) actively promotes this latest announcement and welcomes visitors from the Mainland to Macao.


40,000 Units Visited in First Two Days of Census Field Visits Individuals Having a Residence in Macao Shall Respond to Census

Field visits for the 2021 Population Census have resumed since Monday (23 Aug) and 800 Census officers have been arranged to visit households who have not responded to the Census to collect information. Nearly 40,000 residential, industrial and commercial units were visited in the first two days of field visit. Among the households that were contacted, almost 70% completed the Census questionnaire while the remaining households activated their access to the online questionnaire or scheduled a telephone interview.

UM to resume classroom teaching on 15 Sept

As the epidemic is in remission, in accordance with the guidelines of the Education and Youth Development Bureau, the University of Macau (UM) will resume classroom teaching on 15 September (Wednesday), with the current online teaching to be continued until 14 September.
