How to Apply
- Applicable to Macao SAR Resident Identity Card (BIR) holders;
- Photocopies of the Macao SAR Resident Identity Card of the applicant and the relatives are required ;
- If applicant is under the age of 18, the application must be lodged by the parent or guardian at service counter in person.
Application at counter (applicants are required to obtain a number tag in advance. For the methods to obtain the tag number, please refer to “Methods to Obtain Tag Number and Appointment” of the website of the Identification Services Bureau(DSI).
Applicants can lodge the application at DSI counters in person or by a delegate. When lodging application by a delegate, it is required to submit an application form which is signed by the applicant according to the signature on the applicant’s Macao SAR Resident Identity Card, as well as the original Macao SAR Resident Identity Card of the applicant and its photocopy. Application via self-service kiosks (Number tag is not required):
Applicant Eligibilities:
– Holder of Macao SAR Permanent Resident Card or a Macao SAR or Macao SAR Non-permanent Resident Identity Card;
– Aged 18 or above.

Applicable relationship:
Applicants can use self-service kiosk to apply for the Certificate of Kinship related to their parents, children, spouse, brother and sister, grandparents and grandchildren (hereinafter referred as “persons concerned”)
Required Documents:
When lodging application, the applicant has to follow system instructions to operate and insert the Macao Special Administrative Region Resident Identity Card of the persons concerned. Up to eight persons concerned can be provided in the same application.
Please note that:
The self-service kiosks are not applicable to applicants under the following conditions. They are required to obtain a number tag and lodge the application at service counters.
- The Macao SAR Resident Identity Card expired;
- The Macao Resident Identity Card is being renewed;
- Persons who are modifying personal data (such as data on the identity card face, marital status, parents’ names etc);
- An interdicted or quasi-interdicted person;
- The relationship information does not exist in the applicant’s Macao resident identity record.

When lodging the application in Macao One Account, it is required to upload the image of the Macao SAR Resident Identity Card of the person(s) concerned.
Remarks/ Notes for Application
- If the information about the relationship between the applicant and the applicant’s parents, children or spouse does not exist in the applicant’s Macao SAR Resident Identity Card record, they have to apply for kinship verification to DSI before lodging the application for the Certificate of Kinship through self-service kiosks or “Macao One Account”.Details of the kinship verification service can be found at www.dsi.gov.mo/QAndA_e.jsp#CH7.
- The Electronic Certificate has an equivalent legal effect as the Printed Certificate.

Processing Time
- 5 working days (Performance Pledge)
(The processing time is counted from the following day after this bureau receives the application and all required documents.) - Eligible person can lodge the application with the original Macao SAR Resident Identity Card of the applicant and the person(s) concerned at self-service kiosks.
- Eligible persons who lodge the application using self-service kiosks or Macao One Account, they can collect the certificate according to the following schedule:

Collection Methods of service results:
- In person
- By authorized person
- The applicant can endorse the application receipt and sign according to the valid identification document in order to authorize a representative to collect the document on behalf of the applicant (if applicant is under the age of 18, his/her legal representative is the one to endorse the application receipt).
- The authorized representative should present his/her original valid identification document and the photocopy of applicant’s identification document for verification.
